I sat on the bed and just went through tv channels before turning the TV off and just stayed in the dark.
I couldn't sleep, it's been forever since I actually got a goodnight rest, I got diagnosed with insomnia at 10.
How— I don't even know.
I bit down on my bottom lip as I felt everything that happened to me while with THOSE PEOPLE flooding my head.
I heard a knock on the door,"Your up too??" Ailani asked me then Keanu came in behind her.
"Was I too loud?" I asked feelin my throat become dry.
"No your fine, we just woke up." Keanu said as he sat beside me and Ailani sat on the other side.
I leaned my head onto Ailani's shoulder and felt my self getting emotional out of nowhere, "Ca- Can I talk to y'all?" I asked rubbing my throat.
"Of course..." Ailani said before leaning her head no top of mines.
"I hated them so much..." I said.
I felt Keanu tense up beside me makin me grab his hand," Like...I remember the day they took me, I went from wakin up in a hospital bed to wakin up in a bedroom.
I wasn't allowed out the room, they brought me food and what not of course they took care of me, but they didn't."
"If I didn't eat all my food there was a punishment, they homeschooled me so if I didn't get something punishment, they said it was all out of love, they said they were my new parents and I was stuck wit them forever....when I turned 15 I was ready to get out of there"
"I went off on the male...he kept gettin in my personal space and I was already overwhelmed cause I was so determined of finding a way out of there— worst mistake of my life. He knocked me out and I woke up with pain in between my legs and blood on the sheets." I said and a slight hiccup escape my mouth as I tear went down my face which Ailani wipes away and kissed my cheek.
"I'm so sorry Milani..." Keanu said and Ailani lifted up then I did.
"It's not your fault Buba, you did everything you could to help me when I was younger...you and Ailani both." I said as tears rushed down my face before I hugged him.
"I wanted to kill myself so many times in there....but I couldn't because I knew you guys were still out here and....one day I knew I was gonna find a way back to you guys." I said and made Ailani join in on the hug.
"Can y'all tell me how my funeral went?" I asked.
"Anyways." Keanu said and I laughed as I wiped my face.
"Wait I forgot a detail escaping..."
"Imma be honest they kept me two states away....one day they thought I was asleep but I wasn't and I saw them put the code in, so I waited and this was an life or death cause if I was caught it was over....I waited a few nights and packed my things away....I was able to make it out the room and went through their kitchen drawers where it was money I found....
