Why I Cry

Why I Cry

The needle seared into my body,

everything went fuzzy,

and I searched for you.

Your dark eyes met mine,

so pleading,

you were yelling for me,

but I could not hear you.

Your silent screams still haunt my dreams.

If had heard you,

you would be here with me.

I cry all the time thinking about you.

Guilty, plagued with misery, I'm caged and can't be freed,

oh I cry all the time just thinking about you.

Darkness overcame me,

my body hit the concrete,

I fell into the void.

I awake,

the smell blood on me,

the sticky warm feeling,

all over my body.

I thought the blood was seeping from me,

but you were the one bleeding.

I cry all the time thinking about you.

Guilty, plagued with misery, I'm caged and can't be freed,

oh I cry all the time just thinking about you.

I held you,

cradling your body,

you were so bloody,

my body seeping red.

I pleaded for your life,

I wanted more time,

but you didn't get any.

I did this to you,

I took away your life.

Unaware in a trance,

my thoughts were not mine.

The fault rests on my shoulders,

your death my own mistake.

I cry all the time thinking about you.

Guilty, plagued with misery, I'm caged and can't be freed,

oh I cry all the time just thinking about you.

The needle stole everything from me,

I can't erase the misery.

That's why I cry all the time thinking about you.

I wrote this poem based off one of my action/romance books that I am currently writing but have not yet posted on my personal account. Hope you liked it. If not, sorry. I'm not much of a poet.
