Flowers On the GraveI lay the flowers upon your grave.
They’re fresh and pure,
a glimpse of life that is no more.
You are gone, and I am here, but the flowers are a comfort, I no longer fear.
I lay them on the grave, they are alive and there, the last bit of life we get to share.
I know the flowers are a part of you, you’re alive for a short time longer, the flowers your last breath.
You’re alive in me for eternity, but also the flowers give you more air to breathe.
I put the flowers on the grave and whisper you a prayer, sucking in the sweet smell that still lingers in the chilly air.
