Act 3 Scene 1
(The scene opens with Mrs. Shola and her children discussing)
Mrs. Shola: my children I am so sorry I didn't inform you earlier. Please forgive me
Jeffery: mom, we have already forgiven you
Mrs. Shola: I have decided to expand the shop
Roxie: that is a good idea mom
Ruth: it'll definitely help us make more money
Jeffery: sounds good
Mrs. Shola: so I'll go out to get some goods for the store
All: okay mom
(Mrs. Shola quickly sets out to the market and is back in no time)
Ruth: mom, you're back so early
Mrs. Shola: were you expecting me to take much time
Ruth: no but you stayed shorter than I expected
Mrs. Shola: I will soon be leaving for the shop
Ruth: I will accompany you there
Mrs. Shola: Then get ready and get into the car
(They arrive at the shop twenty minutes later and started arranging the newly bought goods just before some customers arrive)
Roxie: good morning
1st customer: I want to buy three bottles of Fanta, how much does it cost?
Roxie: four fifty naira
2nd customer: what for? Are things that expensive now?
Roxie: sorry, but that's how it is everywhere
3rd customer: (mockingly) who told you that?
2nd customer: please let's get going
1st customer: this girl is not serious
Mrs. Shola: hold on, I will reduce the price for you
3rd customer: so how much are you going to give us for all three of them?
Mrs. Shola: I will give you for four hundred naira
3rd customer: okay, bring it
Mrs. Shola: (puts it in a black nylon, hands it over to him and collects her money) thank you
1st customer: keep your thank you to yourself
Ruth: Moms don't mind them, that is how youths of nowadays behave
Mrs. Shola: back in my days we don't talk to elders in that manner
Ruth: I want to start going home now
Mrs. Shola: okay dear, prepare lunch before I'm back
Ruth: yes mom, I will
Act 3 Scene 2
(Joel is seen at Christopher's house; they are discussing and drinking beer)
Christopher: you cannot force a horse to drink water, neither can you pour water on a duck and expect it not to shake it off, Joel, I promise you, you will never regret your actions
Joel: I trust you, and I will always trust you
Christopher: the task is so simple, all we need to do is just delete that guy, (whispers) let's kill him
