"I hereby announce that princess momo is now queen momo!", the priest stated.

the crowd cheered for their new queen. "all hail queen momo!", they chanted.

momo waved as she ascended down the stairs, standing next to todoroki, who's technically now the king. however, since this kingdom is run by women, the king has no say in most matters.

nanako, tomura, and the rest quickly congratulated momo before excusing themselves for their trip.

nana decided to bring bakugo and kirishima along this time. she partially wanted to bring bakugo because she wanted to know how he'd react once he met all for one. but also, they were there to protect eri in case anything happened.

the rest were left to train on their own time and have a small vacation, including chisaki.

"alright. let's go", tomura said as he helped eri and nanako enter the carriage first, before going in himself.

"mommmmm, are we almost there yet??", eri asked. she's been sitting in this carriage for almost 16 hours and she hasn't been able to jump around.

just as she asked, the carriage stopped. "we sure are, love!", nanako commented excitedly.

she was happy that she was able to come along. now, it was truly like a family trip.

tomura exited out first, extending a hand out for nanako and eri. whispers were heard and lots of chattering.

"is that king tomura's kid?"

"but he's not even married yet!! how scandalous!"

"certainly it's not princess nanako's. she wasn't even pregnant the last time she came here".

"perhaps it's from one of princess nanako's old flings?", another woman gossiped.

tomura started getting irritated. how dare they bring his family down. he was about to speak before nanako stopped him by holding his hand. nanako held eri's hand with her other hand as they walked into the palace.

all for one greeted them, although he wasn't king anymore, he was still tomura's father. thus, they still bowed to him.

"oh? and who's this little one?", all for one asked.

eri hid behind her mother. all for one's face and booming voice scared her way too much. nanako bent down to pick eri up.

"eri, this is tomura's father. previous king all for one. say hi to your grandfather", nana instructed.

"h-hi...m-my name is e-eri...", eri introduced as she hugged nanako's neck tighter. eri wondered if everyone in her papa's kingdom were that scary.

"I didn't know I had a grandchild, tomura", all for one said.

"she's adopted by marquess kai. but nanako decided that she wanted her, so now she calls her mom and me papa", tomura explained. "so theoretically, you'd be her grandpa".

"I see...well, since you're so intent on having a family with nanako, you must have heard the complaints that your advisors have been giving", all for one said.

"yes father. I'll make sure to take care of it", tomura said as all for one left.

nanako took a look at bakugo, who was currently frozen next to kirishima. she laughed.

"scary?", nana teased. bakugo scowled then crossed his arms.

"no! I was fine", he said, turning his head away. kirishima just awkwardly laughed.

"dabi, can you take eri to the room I used last time please? I need to talk with tomura", nanako said.

dabi nodded and led the little girl away. bakugo and kirishima followed suit, along with the rest of tomura's men...and toga.

"so, want to tell me about the complaints from your advisors?", nanako casually asked as her and tomura walked to the throne.

tomura sat on the skull chair, pulling nanako onto his lap.

"as soon as coronation ended, I already had a pile of letters from the dukes and advisors on my court".

"I wanted to come back to you quickly so I read through them on the carriage. they were saying how I should wed soon and birth a heir", tomura said nonchalantly.

"I see. then is it alright if I meet your advisors tomorrow?", nanako asked while leaning her head on tomura's shoulder.

he wasn't scratching his neck as much anymore. the lotion was helping and the scratch marks are less noticeable now.

'improvement', nanako thought with a smile.

"of course. whatever you want nana", tomura replied. "although they might be a little aggravating".

"it's fine. I think I can handle it", nanako said while grinning.

the next day, as promised, nanako was getting ready for court.

"why're you putting makeup on, mama?", eri asked as she sat on a stool, watching nanako wear lipstick.

the lipstick was red, making it stick out from her black gown. the lacy sleeves reached nana's elbows, with no jewels or sparkles. it was simple yet elegant. it truly brought out nanako's fair skin.

"eri..."

"remember, makeup is a woman's war paint. when you head into battle, you must wear it; that way, you definitely can't cry. if you cry, your makeup will run. no matter how little you applied, your face will end up looking disgraceful. that's why no matter how hard things get, you definitely can't cry", nanako said.

"a quote by saiunkoku monogatari", nanako finished.

"so mama's going to war?", eri asked confused. there seemed to not be anyone attacking. and if there was, why would her mother wear a dress to fight?

"my dear eri, sometimes war isn't all about swords and fighting physically".

"sometimes, it's about how you use your words as a sword and fight off those that look down upon you", nanako calmly said.

eri was definitely confused. she felt her head spinning around all these sayings about war and makeup and fighting.

"don't worry about it eri. once you're older, you'll understand", nana said as she patted eri's head.

eri simply nodded and wished her mother good luck as nanako walked away.

nanako was going to make sure she won the war, even if a few battles were lost.

"if it's fun that they seek, then it's fun that they shall have".
