A boy with the spikiest of hair and the dullest of indigo eyes sighed.

He has been in his bedroom for at least an hour waiting for his older siblings to come back from work, oh how he wanted to go, but he was too young.

By the way, his name was Erik Bondevik-Køhler.

Although Erik could do magic and was the youngest and most powerful of the family, he was often left all alone in the house with only his pet Phoenix.

Erik's two older siblings; Nikolai, the oldest and Marianne, the second oldest along with his parents are able to go around a stroll in the winter forest while looking for firewood.

But Erik stayed home because they said he was too young for it, and Erik sure hated being alone.

For a moment, Erik's dull indigo eyes were stuck to the window which overlooked the frozen, silver covered banks and forest until Ilene -his pet Phoenix- nuzzled her beak on Erik's neck.

"You know," Erik started as he picked up the blue feathered Phoenix in his arms. Unlike other Phoenixes, Ilene was a winter Phoenix, the complete opposite of what you've heard about.

"I guess I am not alone after all." Then Erik nuzzled his head on Ilene's.

But soon their cuddly moment was interrupted by a doorbell ringing downstairs.

Quickly, Erik placed Ilene back in her cage and placed it under the bed. Making sure his parents wouldn't hear her.

'Maybe, just maybe,' Erik thought silently 'will they finally let me go?'
