I opened the door, stepped out and took on a deep breath.
"How the fuck am I going to tell Audrey?"
I heard Jim step out of the truck and close the door, but instead of walking away he walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
"I won't apologise for how I spoke to you before, but I can tell how this has impacted you." He softly said to me.
I looked into his eyes and I didn't see anger like before, I saw compassion and calmness.
"Jim. I killed her father, the one man who meant the most to her. How can I look into her eyes and continue to call her... a friend when I'm the reason why she's in there mourning and grieving." I said to him.
"Listen, I can tell you care about Audrey, but don't tell her. Wait until you feel that it's the right time then tell her. If I know Audrey, and I'm pretty sure I know her well, she'll understand. She might be pissed off at you for a few weeks but she'll eventually come around." He told me.
I nodded my head as I wiped away tears in my eyes.
"Yeah, I think I'll wait to tell her. I got some other shit to sort out first." I told him.
"I've heard about what happened in that club. I take it that was you?" He asked me.
I chuckled at his question. "Nah, I wasn't even close to the club."
He smiled and pat me on the shoulder. "Thought so. Now you better get going, Audrey will probably want to get back to her friends."
And just as he said that the front door was flung open and I heard familiar footsteps coming closer.
"Yeah, I'll get right on that." I told him.
"Keep the clothes too, they look good on you." Jim said.
I nodded as he walked to the back of the truck and Audrey walked up to me and handed me the keys for my bike. And I noticed she was holding a bag over her shoulder.
"What's up with the bag?" I asked her.
"I washed your clothes it's also got a few of mine too." She told me.
"That's nice of you, you're pretty good wife material."
"Oh yeah!? How about you just get on the fucking bike asshole."
I couldn't help but chuckle at her. "Sure, let's get back to Jessie's."
We walked over to my bike and like all the times before I lifted Audrey onto the back seat and sat on my seat but before I was able to put my helmet on Audrey leaned forwards and whispered into my ear.
"~If I'm good wife material then maybe I should start calling you Daddy~"
"Yeah, maybe after this whole thing is over...if I'm still alive"
*Gabriel POV*
"Well that was easier than I thought."
I walked out of the alleyway and looked at the card I had 'borrowed' from that drug dealer. He didn't exactly put up a fight but I didn't really give him much of a chance to. I looked at the card, it was pretty flashy with glitter making it shine but the name is what I was more interested in.
"The Duchess. I've got to let pretty boy know...but I don't have his number, shit."
I took out my phone and decided to ring the one person I know who definitely was in contact with him. I put the phone up to my ear and listened to the ringing as I waited.
