Mauni was sitting there for a few seconds in the aftermath of the Oblivion gate. Did she just really do that? Suddenly the bosmer jumped up and ran into the city of Kvatch. She had to go get Martin! She quickly ran to the temple and walked in, searching for men that could remotely look like the late emporer.

Looking at a man who looked like a priest, she tapped on his shoulder. "Excuse me, do you know where I can find Brother Martin?" she asked quietly. Turning around, a man who looked like he was in his mid 30's smiled gently at her.

"I am Martin, what is it you need?" He said, making Mauni question whether or not she has some sort of clairvoyance for knowing people before she speaks to them. Forcing a smile, she tried not to sound too much like some kidnapper or something.

"Martin, you need to come with me. It's kind of urgent." she said, hoping he would just follow her with no questions asked.

"I'm not going anywhere with anyone until that portal is closed," he said defiantly, making Mauni cringe a bit, "Besides, why would I go with you?"

"Well," she started, "For one, you're the late emporers' son... And I closed the portal." Was that enough to get him to believe her?

"How can I believe you? My father was a farmer." Martin looked quite annoyed with Mauni right now.

"Why would I have a reason to lie? Those stupid daedra came here for you." Right now, Mauni just wanted to knock him out and drag him the whole way to Weynon Priory. But, of course, she kept her usual emotionless bravado.

"A whole city destroyed for me? I don't know why you would lie to me... Fine, I'll come with you." Martin said before nodding, making Mauni sigh in relief.

"Come on, we'll walk to the Imperial City, rent a room there for the night, and then hopefully make it to Weynon Priory by evening." Mauni said before beckoning him to follow and walking out the door into the ruined city.

She didn't want to turn around to see Martin's shocked face, she could basically feel the guilt and confusion radiating off of him. Poor guy.

Feeling her poorly done stick-twist flop around her head, the bosmer sighed and flicked her curly bangs out of her eyes. She barely knew how to style hair, and it utterly pissed her off for some unknown reason.

Inwardly sighing at her unwanted frustration, Mauni began walking by Martin's sighed and gave a ghost of a smile. "You alright? You haven't spoken since we left Kvatch."

Although she enjoyed the silence, Mauni couldn't help but hold some form of concern for Martin. After all, he had been through quite a lot in the past day or so.

"I guess, it's just everything has been so sudden. Daedra attacks, me being the emporer's son... It's just... I mean... Thank you for saving the city.. And me." Martin said with a smile as he squeezed her hand reassuringly and nodded.

Taken back by the physical contact, Mauni held up they're hands and inspected them silently. What was he doing? It felt so odd to have a hand grasping her own ghostly pale one. The bosmer stood there for a few minutes just staring at their hands before releasing his own and smiling.

"I have no idea what that was, but we should get moving, the Imperial City is only about a half hour away." Mauni said before hunching over and continuing down the path. Martin simply smiled and shook his head, not entirely understanding the mysterious bosmer.

It wasn't long before the pair arrived to the city, quickly taking care of selling and buying things before going to the Merchants Inn for the night.

Mauni had never spent the night with someone before, let alone have someone hold her hand. It was all so new to the bosmer, and she couldn't understand why she was feeling happy.
