I had slightly more energy now then I did when I left the pack hospital earlier today. However, it still didn't seem like I had enough to stand in front of a crowd of werewolves who would all be there to watch my parents and I become a part of their pack. My mom and I were picking out what we were going to wear when there was a knock at the door.
"Luna, how nice to see you." My mom said sweetly as she opened the door to let her enter.
"No need for the formalities Jennifer. Call me Lorena." She smiled.
"Well, Lorena, to what do we owe the pleasure of this visit?" My dad ask, who had appeared out of no where.
"Actually," Lorena started, "I am here to help these two lovely ladies get ready for the coronation tonight, and to tell you that you are to go to the pack house and have a sort of get together with the guys." Lorena directed towards my father.
"Yes ma'am," was my father's eager reply as he grabbed his keys and headed towards the door.
"Now, do you two know what you are going to where tonight?" Lorena questioned my mom and I.
We both shook our heads, and Lorena took that her cue to take over. My mom and I were lead up to my bedroom, where my mom had three dresses laid out that she had yet to pick between. I, on the other hand, had no clue what to wear tonight. I wasn't big into dressy clothing because I never really had a reason to be. The only place I ever went to was school, and that never required me to look nice.
"So, what have you narrowed it down to Jennifer?" Lorena interrogated.
"Just these three," my mom replied as she gestured towards the dresses on the foot of my bed.
"I think that the navy blue one is most fitting for you," Lorena said. My mom held up a navy blue, knee-length dress that had a v neckline and the straps would cover her shoulders.
"I told you mom," I smirked.
"Well I guess you did," my mom replied, sticking out her tongue.
As my mom went off to get dressed, Lorena stayed with me to help me pick out my outfit. She started rummaging through my closet until she pulled out a floor-length, white dress. The dress has spaghetti straps with an elegant lace design that covered my back and stopped right above my butt. It was sparkly and had a silver lace belt with a diamond jewel on the front of it.
"I think this one is perfect for you, seeing as you are the Silver Wolf." Lorena smiled at me as she pushed the dress into my hands, willing me to get dressed.
I stepped out of the bathroom, and both my mom and Lorena stood there looking at me in awe. "What?" I questioned them as I suddenly became self-conscious.
"You look so beautiful Grace." My mom said with tears in her eyes.
"Thank you mom." I whispered as I pulled her in for a hug.
"Lorena sat there just enjoying the moment between my mother and I. It was then that I realized Lorena had called me the "Silver Wolf", just like Alpha Camus had.
"Why did you and Alpha Camus both call me the "Silver Wolf"?" I asked Lorena.
"Have you not told her?" Lorena interrogated my mother.
"I never really found the time to tell her. My husband and I were so focused on trying to find a way to break the spell, that we never told her." My mother responded.
"I think now is the time," Lorena stated while she gently squeezed my mother's shoulder.
"Sweetie, I think you should sit down," my mother instructed me.
I did as she said and we both sat on the edge of my bed, while Lorena pulled the chair from under my vanity and say down in front of us.
"Years ago, a legend came to be that many wolf packs tried desperately to find. It wasn't something they were searching for but rather someone. The legend spoke of a female wolf that would be very powerful, she would be able to control the elements, as well as heal. They called this wolf the "Silver Wolf" because whenever she shifted, her wolf would be silver. We never knew that you were the one the legend spoke of until you were four years old. You were playing outside while your father and I watched you. Then, all of the sudden we see your little hands controlling the movement of the dirt around you. We could never tell for sure if the legend was about you based off of your wolf because you never shifted." My mother's story shocked me.
I never thought I was anything special, just some teen who would never shift into her wolf because she would die before she hit twenty-one. Someone whose wolf was too injured to even speak to her for the first time. I would never get to experience things like a normal werewolf because of the spell over me.
"Why me? Why am I the one who is supposed to have all of these amazing powers but can't use them because I am too weak?" I was getting frustrated.
"We don't know sweetheart," my mother replied.
The room became quiet as the tension rose. No one was sure what to say, so we all just kept our mouths shut.
"Would you to like another day to let the news sink in, or do you still want to become part of the pack today?" Lorena's love for us was undeniable. I could tell that she was an amazing Luna because we weren't even officially part of the pack yet, and she was treating us as if we were family.
"We can still do the coronation today," I answered.
"Are you sure?" My mother's concerned voice rang through.
"Yes mother, I'm ready. Would it be possible though to keep me being the "Silver Wolf" under wraps for now?"
"Of course," Lorena replied.
"Thank you."
After finishing up our make-up and getting ready, we headed out to the pack house where everyone was waiting to meet the newest additions to the pack.
