Music blared out from the speakers, muffling conversations and attracting swarms of hot bodies to the sticky dancefloor. Katsuki Bakugo was in the VIP lounge, draped across a leather chair, his mates sitting around with drinks and random girls. It was quieter back there, and Bakugo didn't fancy getting mushed against strangers.

"Oh really? ~" Denki Kaminari buried his nose into a girl's pretty dark hair. She was giggling and twiddling with his shirt buttons. Her long legs stretched across Kaminari's lap and her feet edging towards Bakugo's thigh. It got on the blonde's nerves a bit, he didn't like this bird much. Her and Kaminari were both too close to him.

"I'm gettin' a drink." Bakugo snarled, finding an excuse to get away from the girl.

"Yo, Katsuki, I've got you one!" His redheaded friend danced-walked towards him, bopping drunkenly to whatever was pounding loudly. A surge of annoyance passed through Bakugo.

"I don't fucking want that one." He snapped after a moment, pushing past Kirishima, through the bustling bar and pushing his way to the exit. Lights flashed too brightly, noises of some stupid American rapper pulsed through the floor, hot, steamy bodies streamed past Bakugo in blurs. With each quick, angry stride, the exit became closer, the air became less cloudy and the number of people thinned. Finally, he broke free of the club. Crisp air shot through him and he felt the wind breathe on his red, sweaty cheeks.

His ears were sore. They rang as he stormed down the dark pavement. There were splatters of cold rain flying past his vision, it wasn't heavy but it already pissed him off. Bakugo tried focusing on the rain rather than the ache in his ears, he couldn't hear the club from here. Though he had no idea where he was heading, he continued down the streets, crossed roads and past shops. Slowly, after the hollowness in his ears had numbed a bit, Bakugo began to chance his pace into a wobbly walk. That allowed him to take in his surroundings and realise that his house was the other way. He had no idea why he was still walking. Ahead of him was an obnoxiously lit supermarket that forced his groggy eyes to squint. Jesus, he was deaf AND blind now?

The rain suddenly got a huge boost of confidence and started plummeting down in hard bullets, freezing water slid down Bakugo's back causing him to curse and start running towards shelter.

The shop wasn't open but there was a long ledge jutting out.

But there was already someone there. Her hair plastered to her face, looking completely miserable.

'For fuckssake, I don't want to listen to a sob story.' Bakugo scowled internally, 'I'll just pretend I'm deaf, don't talk to me, girl.'

The shop's ledge was just big enough for a few people to fit under so there was a bit of space. Luckily the girl was squeezed right at the edge, just barely underneath, with her head buried in her knees. Whether she noticed Bakugo or not, she didn't react.

'Thank you, now please stay that way.' Bakugo slumped near the opposite end and stared around aimlessly. The rain was coming down hard. The shop fronts across the narrow road were barely visible through the constant onslaught, the wind began to scream against Bakugo's still-sensitive ears.

Why are there no taxis? Or cars? Or, like, anything?

The only people alive at this moment seemed to be him and this stranger.

Speaking of.

Although he tried to ignore the girl's presence and was very glad of her silence, he was being gnawed by curiosity. (There wasn't else to wonder about as well- his attention was either towards her or a cigarette butt.) Why was she outside on a Saturday night? At first he assumed she was plastered and decided to have a drunken meltdown in the rain, but no one wears tracksuit bottoms and a shirt in a club- especially not the girls. Also, her hair didn't look styled- even though it was ruined by the rain you can usually tell- and he was willing to bet she didn't have any makeup on.
