CHAPTER 6: THE DATE

RILEYS'S P.O.V

I was so excited for today, I mean I had been out for dates before but to be honest, I never really liked a guy before as much as I liked Zach. I mean sure I still was I love with Tyler but i'm learning to get over it and this is the first step. It was 3pm right now which meant I had 2 more hours to get ready since Zach was supposed to pick me up at 5. I set my clothes to be worn on the bed and went into the bathroom. I spent about half an hour showering since I washed my hair and then finally came out knowing I had to really start getting ready now.

I wrapped a towel around me and started blow drying my hair jamming to my role model, Taylor Swift's song. I was half-way through singing Love Story when I heard a soft chuckle. I looked to my right to see that I forgot to shut my blinds and now there was a jerk who just saw me make a fool out of myself. Ugghh, I feel so stupid. A few seconds after I realize this, I see his face turn red knowing that I saw him staring at me. I quickly run over and shut the blinds and then I just get into my clothes without wasting any time.

TYLER'S P.O.V

I saw her dancing in a towel while blow drying her hair and singing to Taylor Swift. Ohh god she looks so cute. What the fuck Tyler, stop thinking this way. You hate her. I say this to myself realizing what I just thought but a part of me knew the truth. I could never actually hate her, no matter what she did or said. God, she looks so innocent. Ughh, I know after everything that happened that she doesn't deserve anything, but sometimes I wonder that if all that drama never happened then would we still have been friends? Anyways, I see her get ready for her date and leave. She looks beautiful, not fake or "hot" like Brittany. "Shit!" I exclaim out loud, where are these thoughts even coming from? Come on Tyler, you're dating Brittany, the most wanted chick I school. Everyone wants her, but what about what you want?

I glance at my watch, shit I have a date with Brittany. I had completely forgotten and I now had only 10 minutes to leave. I quickly changed into a pair of ripped jeans and a t-shirt and left for the theatres. As I unlocked my car I see that douchebag Zach go up her porch and ring her doorbell. He's probably come to pick her up. I can't believe that she is going out with him. But she doesn't know the real him, after all very few people including me do. He is a jerk who is known to break peoples hearts.

I meet Brittany outside the theatre and it was an understatement to say that she was pissed. We quickly have a seat and the movie starts. It's a chick flick that Brittany wanted to see and was nagging me to see it with her for the past week. If this was Riley, she would have rather seen an action or horror movie since she hates chick flicks. I quickly shake that thought out of my head. Come on Tyler, this is Brittany, not Riles.

RILEY'S P.O.V

Zach had taken me to the movies to see some chick flick called Summer Love and I hate it. Frankly, I hated chick flicks and I would rather see an action, horror or comedy film. Tyler would know. God i'm going mad with these thoughts. I really needed to get over him, it's been 2 years. During the interval, the lights get switched on and Zach moved out to get snacks. I look behind me to see Tyler and Brittany sitting in the seat right behind me and my eyes pop out. Wtf!!! Is he stalking me? But then I remembered that I never told anyone where Zach was taking me, only that we were going out.

Then I realize that they were on a date to and it was just a coincidence. But why have they come here?Ty could never stand these kind of movies just like me. I look at his face and it is miserable. I laugh out by accident because of his expression and suddenly I get their attention.

"You creep, are you stalking us?" Brittany exclaims

"of course not you doofus, i'm on a date" I say

"Sure, and where is this date of yours" she asks me obviously not believing me

"Heyy baby, I got a Gatorade for you" Zach says as he enters the aisle

I internally cringe at that name and Tyler smirks since he knew how much I hated that nickname. I also would prefer a soda than a Gatorade.

"thanks but i'm not too thirsty, you can have mine" I say, not really in a mood to have one.

I wasn't able to really pay attention to the rest of the movie . After it was over Zach dropped me home and we were right outside my house when he leaned in to kiss me. I let his lips touch mine as he pulled me closer, a little roughly than I'd like though. I expected spark to occur and butterflies flying in my stomach but to be honest, it was just plain normal. As he kissed me I felt a pair of eyes stare at me.

I broke the kiss and looked across the fence to see Ty staring at us intently and I remember our first kiss.
