Chapter 1

-

Apollo Justice POV:

It has been almost over a year since that dreaded trial including my mentor Kristoph Gavin and since that day I promised myself to never engage with that manipulative little snake. I didn't keep that promise though because as of right now I am riding my bicycle to the prison to "visit" him and ideally it will be the last time.

It is a cold Monday and a terrible beginning at that. I can't get the insidious lawyer's face off my mind and his sh*t-eating grin still haunts me. he hurt everybody those days, me as well as my boss Mr. Wright and even his own fragile little brother, Prosecutor Gavin. I need to hate him yet deep down I can't. I was so in my thoughts that I nearly hit a lost stray cat on the side of the road. Regardless of how often I attempt to tell myself to hate the man...I can't. That man taught me what I know and I couldn't be more grateful.

i hate him. i hate him. i hate him. I HATE HIM. no. no i don't.. focus Apollo.

When I arrived at the prison I thought I should at least look somewhat presentable so I slicked my two horns of hair straight up and fixed my tie while pining my attorneys badge overall quite sparkling. I hopped of my bicycle and down the dry asphalt now being covered slightly with wet raindrops. my heart raced quicker the closer to the front steps. For a second I was concerned my heart was going to burst or I would die of a heart attack, however, I guaranteed my self that I was only somewhat anxious to see the man who had demolished numerous people and that this will be a snappy visit after all. I don't have the foggiest idea what in my heart advised me to come here and see him, however, I felt that I needed to see his smile one final time before I dismiss for good. As I approach the front doors I am startled by the moving Blue Badger. I jolt back not realizing that I'm going to hit the ground and that is the point at which I bump into  something.... or somebody?

It was Klavier Gavin... but he looked a bit different. his face wasn't as smiley as he had consistently been in court. He was wearing a dark coat around his waist with ripped dark jeans and a purple t-shirt to match. I push back humiliated as I admire his face. He gave a weak smile, "Pardon me herr Justice." and pushed past me. What was he doing here? Hopefully not the same reason I am. Perhaps he is here for a case or possibly he is here to talk with Detective Skye. I let out a heavy sigh and proceed into the building.

Once inside the building I approach the front desk and there I see Detective Gumshoe getting whipped by some woman with short blue hair. Is that even allowed? I search for somebody to assist me and that is when a man with little circular glasses and dark black hair approaches, "Hello sir, how might I help you?" I fumble with my home keys and my heart aches once more, "I-I am here to see.. MR. KRISTOPH GAVIN SIR!" I shouted loudly almost as earsplitting as my Chords of Steel. I turn to see the woman with the whip is glaring at me. Eeek she's scary...wonder if Mr. Wright knows who she is. Guess I will have to ask later.

The man's eyes widen as he answers with, "Y-You must be Apollo Justice.." How does this guy know my name but before I can answer he murmurs, "Come with me." I follow the man as we pass by various cells brimming with moaning inmates as if they were hungry zombies. How could Kristoph survive in these conditions?! We pass by the prisoners to a tranquil and private territory. The lights were slightly dimmed and all I could make out with my already squinting eyes was a glimmer of a light. As we drew nearer I heard some low humming. My heart is pounding  hard when I realize that melody.. Mr. Gavin used to hum that tune as we worked in his office. The man goes to take a gander at me and puts his hand out with the keys in his palm. His hand shakes and he says, "This is the extent that i'm going. If you proceed you will meet the man you are searching for." I gesture and take the keys from his hand. I get that Kristoph Gavin is quite an evil man, however this appears to be very exaggerated. I walk gradually forward as the light of the lamp draws nearer and the humming gets louder. As I get closer I see the silhouette of a taller man with spiraling hair. It was Klavier Gavin.

[Thank you for reading chapter 1 I hope this turns out well. The story is inspired by the song Redemption- anyway, i will try to maintain a somewhat active schedule for uploading!! 🌺]
