Self esteem is a big issue.
This generation has a lower rate of self esteem than any previous generations that are alive today. This leads to things like anxiety and depression rates going up, as well as skyrocketing suicide rates.
I deal with self esteem issues, which is in part brought upon by gender dysphoria. Any time I think I find a part of me I like, my brain is quick to tell me why I should be insecure.

But as you may know, self esteem doesn't just talk about your physical form. It also can touch on your behavior as a person. In small amounts, this can be good for making friends, but that's only in moderation.
With too much, it can hurt you and others. Like in Be More Chill. It's a bad example, but it'll work. In BMC, Jeremy Heere has such low self esteem that it causes him to do thing he would have never done, and it hurts both him and the people around him. Of course most of the things he does is influenced or even forced by the Squip, but it was all based in self loathing (and wanting to get into a girl's pants). But that's just a theory. A GAME THEOR-
