"I still remember the third of December. Me in your sweater you said it looked better on me than it did you..."

Michael quickly took the sweater Jeremy had passed to him and pulled it on over his body as he tried to keep his breathing steady. Jeremy sat next to him on a bench behind the school rubbing soothing circles on his back attempting to help his friend calm down. Anytime one of them was upset or was having some form of attack/breakdown they would switch off owners of the sweater. It was just a light gray one Jeremy bought about two years ago but it helped them both calm down.

"Yknow this sweater always looks better on you than it does me and it was originally mine to begin with" Jeremy said with a small laugh. Michael laughed a bit too with a sniffle, the rising feeling of panic already falling back down. The two hugged each other tightly for a few minutes just relishing in each other's presence before they decided on heading back home. The sweater wasn't given back to Jeremy for another three days.

"If only you knew how much I liked you..."

Michael sighed resting his head on his hand with a small smile as he nodded occasionally, listening to Jeremy ramble on about his day. Michael was really close to confessing his feelings for his best friend he just...couldn't bring himself to it. He didn't wanna lose Jeremy again. Not after what happened with the squip.

"But I watch your eyes as she walks by."

Michael saw Jeremy's focus shift as his sentence slowly came to an end. He looked back out of curiosity and saw...

"Christine..." the spoke in unison. Jeremy's voice was more of a love struck sigh we're as Michael's sounded quiet. Almost...upset? Of course he wasn't upset!! He totally hadn't forgotten about Jeremy's MASSIVE crush on Christine.

"What a sight for sore eyes"

Michael glanced back at the taller boy only to see him gaze longingly after the girl of his dreams. He felt his heart sink but played it off with a laugh. "Damn just ask her out" he said snapping Jeremy out of his trance. The two laughed a bit and continued their conversation. It was plain to see that Jeremy wasn't fully engaged in his talk with Michael.

"Brighter than a blue sky"

"Michael!!!! Michael guess what!!!!" Jeremy smiled excitedly obviously out of breath from running.

"What's up Jer?" Michael asked while still looking through his locker.

"I-I asked Christine out and...and she said y-y-yes!!!" He was still gasping for air but had a stupid grin plastered across his stupid face. Michael forced a smile and mustered as much happiness as he could into his voice "wow that's amazing!"

"She's got you mesmerized while I die"

[hey jer u still up 2 go 2 7/11 later?]

[hey micha sorry I have to cancel. I'm going out with Christine]

[oh no that's totally fine I understand.]

[maybe sometime next week?]

[yeah. sounds great.]

[thanks for understanding!]

[hey can I stop by your house and grab the sweater? I know where the spare key is.]

[oh about that..I let Christine borrow it. She was cold and I figured you wouldn't mind]

That was almost the last straw for Michael

[oh okay. yeah that's fine. sorry for bothering you bye.]

"Why would you ever kiss me?"

"Michael Mell you're a fucking idiot for ever thinking he'd like you back" the heartbroken teen yelled into his pillow between sobs. He wasn't sure when Jeremy had even gotten there but apparently Jeremy was now in his house as he was having a breakdown.

"I'm not even half as pretty"

The fight started from nowhere but the two boys were screaming at each other like they were enemies.

Jeremy yelled getting pissed "WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT!?"

"I WAS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU WAS I? I WAS NEVER NICE ENOUGH, I WASNT THERE ENOUGH, IM NOT PRETTY ENOUGH, AND I GUESS ILL ALWAYS JUST BE THE STUPID UGLY LOSER YOU PUSHED AWAY AT THE FUCKING PARTY SO YOU COULD GO GET YOUR GIRLFRIEND" Michaels tears had only grown stronger as the fight escalated.

"OH MY GOD YOURE BEING SUCH A BABY RIGHT NOW!"

"You gave her your sweater"

"OH WELL IM SO SORRY BUT AT LEAST I DONT GIVE AWAY YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP FOR A STUPID GIRL! AT LEAST I DIDNT GIVE AWAY THE SWEATER TO A STUPID FUCKING GIRL"

"It's just polyester"

The fight was still going but was slowly dying down

"The sweater!? Is that what you're so upset about!? It's just polyester you moron it doesn't mean shit!"

"But you like her better"

"Yes it does! You clearly like her better than you like me and I don't care how stupid I sound! You're my only friend Jeremy! My only fucking friend and it hurts to know that she can walk in and take that away!!"

Jeremy rolled his eyes and walked out muttering a quiet "fuck you" before slamming the door

Everything went quiet and Michael was left crying in his room.

"I wish I were Heather..."
