Chapter 2

~Gons pov~

I had just finished unpacking everything, it took me ages. "College starts in a week so I might as well search for a job?" I thought to myself. I got out of bed and logged into my computer which was lying on my desk. I begun the hunt for a job. Nothing yet...

"Hey Gon!" I heard Kurapika calling me from outside my room.

"What's up?" I asked him curiously.

"I was wondering if you'd like to go on a walk tomorrow, I could show you around a little?" Kurapika asked while walking closer to my door.

"Oh, yeah that would be fun," I said, I closing my computer and sighing in disappointment.

"What's wrong?" he asked me while looking at my computer.

"I just can't find any jobs, I'm thinking about getting a part timer." I said, pouting a little.

"Hey, I used to work at Subway. Maybe you could work there, it's only a 3 minutes away from here and they give you a decent pay!" Kurapika said in an enthusiastic tone.

"What's Subway?" I asked, looking at him dead in the eye.

To my surprise, he laughed, I still don't understand why.

"It's a fast food restaurant where they make sandwiches." He said.

"Could we go there tommorrow?" I asked him, trying to hide my embarrassment from not knowing what it was.

"Of course, but now get some sleep, you've had a long day." Kurapika said smiling whilst closing the door.

"Don't forget to brush those teeth!" Kurapika added from outside the corridor.

"Yes mum." I said sarcastically. Ever since I moved in, Kurapika had already started treating me like a child, even though it's been like three hours. Maybe it's because of the height difference? Kind of offensive now that I think about it. I sighed to myself before going to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

the next day

I didn't sleep at all, like not even a second. I wasn't used to all the sounds from the streets and it distracted me all night. When I checked the clock, it was already 7AM. I got up and took a shower. After my shower, I heard Kurapika cooking breakfast in the kitchen. I still remember that smell, delicious.

~15 minutes later~

"Good morning Kurapika..." I said tiredly, wobbling my way to the kitchen chair.

"What's up with you? You seem exhausted?" Kurapika said. She appeared concerned about me.

"I couldn't sleep from all the noise from the streets." I answered,  yawning.

"I guess we're buying you some earplugs!" Kurapika chuckled.

For breakfast Kurapika made scrambled egg and toast. I realized how much of a good cook Kurapika was. I ate quickly, being awake all night had made me hungry. Waiting for Kurapika to finish, I found myself admiring the art that plastered the walls.  He had told me earlier that he was a painter and that he paints abstract objects. They were all beautiful,  I envied his skills. I was wishing I had a cool talent like him...

I guess I ended up falling asleep seeing as I woke up to find myself in bed. My phone was on my desk, so, logically, I checked the time. 11:13. I really needed to get up but I was just so tired. After putting it off for 10 minutes straight, I forced myself to get up. There was a note sitting on my desk.

Hi Gon!

You fell asleep during breakfast and seeing as you didn't get any sleep last night, I decided not to wake you up. I went out of campus alone, hope you don't mind. Hope we can go together next time!

Aw man he had left without me. For some reason, it kinda of hurt.  "How hard can it be to find  Subway?" I remember thinking. Grabbing my coat, I left the apartment. I just had to find that Subway.

Like look at me gooooo, but I'm going to bed now. Updating soon and hopefully the next chapter is longer lolol :)
