Rebecca and I went to the woods near by to explore a little bit, my idea of course.
"Are you sure we should go in the woods it's so late and there could be bears" Rebecca said with worry in her voice. She has always been afraid of every animal if it isn't either a bird, fish, cat or dog she would be scared of it.
"Yes I'm positive plus how are you supposed to remember this summer if your gonna be coped up in your room all day "
"Okay your right lets go before before any demonic animals come out"
I sighed rolling my eyes. We kept walking in the woods. If I had to honest the woods did scare me especially at night that's why Rebecca could hear my heart beat without moving.
"Do you hear that?"
We both stop and listen for the sound
"Oh it was just your heart beating really loud , never mind"
"Why is your heart beating so loud that's not normal?"
"Well I've always been scared to be in the woods at night so that might be why"
We walked a few more yards and reached a small clearing that has a lake and a guy by the edge stargazing lying down on the grass.
"It's not safe here" the guy said abruptly
"We know" I said taking a few steps closer
He proped himself up on his elbows and looked straight at me like if Rebecca didn't exist.
He looked me up and down carefully looking at my every detail before meeting my eyes
"I've seen you before, around camp"
"Really?" I curiously ask
"Your different from everyone else here and I intend to find out why" he said as he got up and straightened his body stretching a little
"How am I different?"
"Your the only one that came in vans and didn't cake your face"
"Is that a compliment?" I ask a smile forming on my face
"If you want it to be.." He trails off
I bit my lip looking down blushing
"What's your name?" I ask
"Andrew, but everyone calls me Drew, you?"
"I'm Ariel and this is Rebecca"
"You guys should start heading back, it isn't safe here.."
"What's so dangerous about a forest?"
"A lot of girls get sexually assaulted, raped and kidnapped in this forest..I've heard that it's almost always brutal and inhuman if you will.."
"Don't they report it?" Rebecca asks finally speaking
"Only about 2 have, mostly because the guys threaten them not to or kill them before they can say anything.."
"Oh wow, that's so sad"
"I can walk you girls back to your cabin if you want" Drew suggests
"Yes please, we appeciate it!" Rebecca says begining to walk back to our cabin
"Pretty girls like you two should be more careful, you'd be surprised to find out what the guys that rape and kill look like, they're everywhere.." he says as we begin to walk behind Rebecca
"Well thanks for the warning but you should know I don't always listen"
"Me either but seriously these guys are ruthless.."
We reach my cabin and Rebecca walks inside leaving me alone with Drew
"Well thank you for walking us"
"My pleasure, well goodnight" He says before walking off
"Goodnight" I say softly watching him walk back to his cabin before walking inside my cabin
*next day *
"We should go back" I suggest feeling a little adventurous
"Did you not hear what that guy said about the rapist, they are inhuman Ariel"
"His name is Drew and yes I heard him"
"Why would you wanna go back?"
"Because I shouldn't so I want to but this time I'm going alone-"
"Yeah fucking right-"
"Rebecca, you have the bravery of a chicken nugget, your not coming"
