Unmasking

7. Welcome

"Nikolai!"

Mathew and Alec run over to the man as the doors of the lift opened. But when he saw what he was holding the blond made a 180 degree turn and bolted the opposite way while Alec slid on one knee to support the half conscious girl he was holding by the arm.

"What the fuck?!" His green eyes looked furiously into the cold blue ones of the man as he let go, Nina limply falling into the brunette arms. "How could you drag her here like that." He almost growled standing up with the girl in his arm and cursing when he saw how bloodied up she was.

"I found her like that" Replied Nikolai shrugging.

"I'm pretty sure she wasn't in that state when you found her" Replied coldly Alec as he turned around and started walking the other man following them.

"First you took her here. Then you let her escape in the state she is and now you're getting angry with me? She is your responsibility" He huffed looking over at the woman.

"Don't" Warned him Alec, he was already on the edge. Nikolai shrugged again. "Naomi will rip your throat out either way." He added looking ahead. The other shrugged again.

"If she can reach that h-"

"Bring her here!" A nurse called a rolling bed already moving to meet them. There was a bit of a commotion as Nina was taken from Alec arms and taken to god knows where. Alec hoped they'd fix her. He needed to have an exchange of words with that woman. Mathew looked anxious as he followed the nursing team with his gaze, then looked at both man.

"First of all, NIKOLAI WHAT THE FU-" The calm and smiling Mathew looked as if he was about to kill the man.

"Don't bother" It was Alec hand on the blond shoulder that stopped him and he took a deep breath.

"But I do like her." Replied Nikolai visibly unaffected by the outbursts coming his way. "I mean it takes some skills to almost leave this place while bleeding out. She has some balls, so I'm sure your responsibility will be fine." He smirked lightly making the other two look at him with rage. "Anyway Chloe wants to have a meeting now. We have to talk about what to do with her, preferably before she tries something like that again." He sighted and ran his hand through his platinum blond hair. "Alec change. You have blood on your cloths." He pointed.

"So do you"

"We meet at five" Was the only reply Alec got, as the other turned around.

"Can I punch him?" Snarled lightly Mathew.

"Get in line" Just sighted Alec. "His lack of empathy is truly astonishing... Lets go" And with that both man, moved toward the elevator. "We should've taken her to a hospital"

"But we didn't." Sighted Mathew and pushed the elevator button. "And that we can't change Alec. We'll work it out somehow... Keeping an eye on her from close isn't that bad thought." He smiled weakly getting into the elevator.

"Maybe we can teach her how to respect her own limits" Groaned Alec as he leaned against the elevator wall. "Why couldn't some hot, smart and not troublesome woman have helped you up?" He added and sighted.

"You know you like her." Replied Mathew and patted Alec on the back. He didn't reply thought. "You're so dishonest dude"

"Hey, Nina... How are you feeling?" A soft voice reached the woman ears and made her bat her eyes. She sighted realizing she was back at the start... Well now her hands were tied with a cloth under the bed. "I'm sorry about those but we can't have you running this way again" She sighted again before looking to the side. To her surprise twins were siting on her bed, the woman looking at her intensely. She had... violet eyes? They looked so natural, she couldn't focus on anything else but them. They had this kind of mischievous smile, that made her nervous thought.

"Uhm... you are?" Nina asked more confused then ever. Was she hallucinating? If she wasn't then what the hell did they want?

"Soren and that's my sister Sophie" Spoke the man. And with that there was silence again. It made Nina so uncomfortable to have them stare this way.

"And may I ask what you want from me?" Nina said after a while.

"Many things" Shrugged Soren as if they were all obvious.

"Mostly we would like to trust you on many levels. No running around, no running away, keeping your mouth shut and maybe even have you work along us, even though you don't know how to hack." Recited Sophie and Nina realized what was so unsettling. The twins never blinked since she woke up. They just stared.

"And I don't really get a choice do I" Spoke Nina looking down at her hands. She'd wander just how much did they know.

"No you don't" Spoke Soren grabbing her chin so they could keep eye contact.

"But the trust level is up to you" Replied Sophie her smile a bit more genuine? Nina couldn't say "Well usually in life you only get what you give so..." She moved and detached freed the woman hands. "Alec will flip if you get hurt again, so please stay put."

"I think that would be pointless" Sighted Nina. Did Alec get that angry? What about Mathew? "But I want one thing. The possibility to make sure my family believes I am somewhere safe or traveling and for t h e m to be safe" She replied looking them dead in the eyes with all the confidence she could muster. At this point she had nothing to loose...

Soren actually laughed and Sophie chuckled, both only amplifying at Nina sudden confused expression. "Already making demands? God I like you already" Wheezed Soren.

"Don't worry. That will be arranged and we aren't some kind of monsters Nina." Added Sophie and gently took Nina hand shaking it. "Welcome on board Nina. I hope we will have only pleasant interactions in the future." She spoke softly.

"Welcome to Anonymous" Smiled Soren.

Nina shook Sophie hand and smiled lightly, but deep inside all she wanted was for them to finally blink.

To be honest I'm having fun with it, but I'm anxious of posting things like this.
