It's been nearly a month and a half since that evening.
And things have been going pretty well.
I've started working at the local pizzeria with my Mum. I've got shifts Wednesday after school, and in the afternoon and evenings on Saturday. Just pot-washing, waiting and working behind the bar on the odd occasion. It's hard, especially on Saturdays when it's busy, but I enjoy it. The pay is decent too.
Not that I really give myself a chance to spend it on things I want to get. I've been using part of it to pay Cal, and the rest, I've been giving to my parents. Well, I say giving. But neither of them would accept it if I tried to just hand it to them. They're too kind. So, I've been slipping money into their wallets, just the odd tenner, or twenty, so they don't get suspicious.
An odd concept. A fifteen year old boy, sneaking money into his parents wallets, instead of out of them.
They both seem to be getting more, and more tired. Especially my dad. I can't help but worry about them, even if they tell me not to.
It's just how I'm wired I guess.
On a more positive note, my first set of mock exams are over. I'm pretty sure I did alright, but you never know. Hopefully I didn't fail everything.
Surprisingly, I'm pretty sure I did well on my Biology paper. Cal's actually a really good teacher, and I understand things so much better now.
We've been getting closer, too. I suppose spending hours together, just the two of us, outside of school was bound to do that. I've grown an appreciation for him. He's a lot different when we're alone than when we're with others. He's a lot more relaxed, and not as loud. The same, but just more low-key.
I've enjoyed spending time with him so much, we've even started meeting up outside of school to do things other than revision. We will go for long walks, ride our bikes down the canal, or just go in to town together at the weekend. He's fun to be around. Good company. And he cares a lot.
I've also been spending a lot of time with Katie. We've started dating officially now, which means she feels she has to be around me practically all the time. Which I don't mind, but I get the feeling that the boys aren't loving it. They don't mind having others there every so often, but her being with us nearly every lunch has thrown them off a bit.
I suppose it is a big change.
None of the other's girlfriends hang out with us. Freya doesn't, Ethan's girlfriend Libby doesn't.
Apart from JJ, who has Simon with him twenty four seven.
The two are getting ridiculous now. We can all tell that Simon wants them to be in a committed relationship, rather than just friends with benefits. Every time he sees a girl come up, and speak to JJ, his face drops. It's a reminder that he isn't the only one JJ wants. I can tell how much it's tearing him up.
But we've all decided it's best to let them figure it out themselves, and not to interfere.
That's usually how these things go.
