"...and we were thinking- Jimin? Hello, earth to lovesick idiot!"
Jimin snaps his eyes back to Hoseok, blinking a few times, "Yeah! Sorry, what?"
Hoseok turns around to see where Jimin's gaze-magnet is sitting today, and finds the boy sitting a few tables behind him. He turns around to give Jimin a knowing look and Jimin smiles sheepishly.
"You're hopeless," Hoseok chuckles, throwing a stale fry at Jimin.
"Again, can you blame me?" Jimin says, eyes moving from Hoseok to the raven haired boy behind him.
"Seeing as you definitely have some bad boy fetish and Jeon fits that category perfectly, then no. I really can't."
"I don't have a fetish! Just..." Jimin trails off, watching the older nibble on his lip piercing and play with a lighter between his fingers, which is definitely not allowed on school property. The blonde feels a rush of extensive attraction and sighs dreamily while resting his chin in the palm of his hand, "Okay, maybe a small one."
Yoongi snorts, "Yeah, right."
"Anyway, as I was saying before, me and Yoongi were thinking of going to a party next weekend. Jin is gonna ask Namjoon. Are you in?"
"Yeah... Sure..."
Jimin's voice is very absent and Hoseok sighs as he sees Jimin's eyes fixated somewhere behind him again. He doesn't know why he still tries to talk to Jimin while one particular tattooed boy is in the same room. It's obviously impossible.
"Let's go to class. Wake up, dufus." Hoseok calls, leaning over the table to flick the blonde's forehead.
Jimin winches, sulking as he follows Hoseok and Yoongi to fourth period, third wheeling as always in his friend group consisting of two couples and himself. One couple being Yoongi and Hoseok, of course, and the other being Seokjin and Namjoon. Jin is at home sick today and Namjoon is taking care of him. Totally unnecessary when it's just a light cold and Namjoon could easily catch it too, but that's just how the two of them are, bearing a caring nature.
It gets kind of saddening sometimes, being single that is, but Jimin knows that his friends don't mean to make him feel left out. It's just natural. They love each other as more than friends and that's that. Jimin would never ask for different friends, anyway.
They are actually the only ones in school that are openly non-straight, but Jimin doesn't want to believe that that is what made them start to hang out; that they were just forced to befriend each other because they were pushed to the side by norms and would be alone if they didn't.
He wants to believe that they befriended each other because they share the same expiriences, they have something in common that creates an understanding and a deeper bond than most, seeing as homosexuality is a minority and something others feel is abnormal and in some cases something bad."I'm not sure I'll pass this fucking test. I'm not made for studying," Yoongi complains as they sit down in their usual seats by the windows in the middle of the classroom.
"I know, babe, but you knew like half of it when we studied yesterday. You'll pass," Hoseok reassures, and Yoongi just sighs, intertwining their fingers before laying his head on the table.
Jimin is in his own world, humming a melody that's stuck in his head while doodling in his notebook. He's fairly good in school. He does his homework on time and attempts to listen in class. There are times when he zones out in class or stresses through things the night before, but who doesn't? He's happy as long as he passes and sees it as a bonus if he gets good results.
