Taehyung never thought he needed love until he yearns for it, until it was lost.
He remembers it clear. Five years ago at the last school trip there was a shooting star and what's more it became vividly clear when they're camping on top of the mountain.
Everyone knew it was the perfect moment to confess. Not only was it their last moments together, but it was also very convenient. If they get accepted? Good for them. If they get rejected? They won't have the need to see each other again.
Five years ago under the shooting star, he didn't expected to receive a love confession.
"Kim Taehyung, I've liked you for a very long time now. Will you please go out with me?"
He remembers his name, Jeon Jungkook. He was the kid that is able to skip a year ahead for his academic skills. An extremely smart guy. One that caught him was his eyes. There were millions of shooting stars and yet his eyes were like the stars itself, the brightest.
"I'm sorry Jungkook.." and he remembers he rejected him right after. This was the first time they have talked. Young him was sure it won't work out. There was most likely a misunderstanding in feelings.
Two people that barely knew each other cannot become lovers. He didn't want to give him a false hope in the future if he made him wait longer.
Then they departed. After that Taehyung left to Seoul and they never met each other again.
"You look like a delinquent here." Taehyung's friend named Jimin laughs as he points out in the picture book where he had his tongue out and pen drawn tattoos on his arms. They were reviewing their graduation album after all these five years, they didn't plan to until Jimin came up with the idea for fun.
In the large photo group, a boy caught his eyes.
"Him." Jimin points "Do you remember him?"
Taehyung nods. He still remembers. Jungkook looks so proud in the picture with toothy smile as he stands proud. He really is good looking sometimes people would complain why Taehyung never accepted his feelings when dozens would in a flash.
At that time, he never thought about love. He never found any interest in loving another and accepting one's love.
But he admires Jungkook. He admires people who have the guts, he admires Jungkook for his bravery. Maybe it was all a small crush to get over his head but still, that was very brave of him. He could never do that, even if he had a crush.
"I wonder how Jeon Jungkook is doing.." Taehyung mutters.
"It's great that you remember him." Jimin smiles "Go back to work, I see costumers are waiting."
Taehyung is only a mere bartender at night. It's a tiring part time job but he earns a lot. From being the master's favorite to the Costumer's favorite bartender. From paychecks to tips, he was living the life.
Jimin was just his customer. Well, he came as a costumer but acted as a friend due to his love for alcohol.
Taehyung is working diligently making tricks and mixes for alcohol and non alcoholic drink. The costumers were always amazed, liked how a handsome man flexes his skill. It wasn't a fun training at start but it ended with him having lots of tips from costumers.
Jimin hasn't left. In fact he's waiting for a friend to come by. He's just taking a lot of time.
"Who are you waiting for?" Taehyung went to ask.
"A friend." Jimin grins.
And that friend came through the door a few seconds later. It was all shines and brightens as he steps in, Taehyung can imagine the CG well.
