The audition venue was just across the cafe , I finished my shift and sprinted towards the building.
There was a small room, where a group of teenagers were waiting.
Teenagers ? Yes, they looked around 15 to 18 years old .
They were pretty young, where as I was 23 .
I felt out of place, they all were beautiful, they fit the Korean beauty standards and were young
I had no advantage, except for my talent of course.
A tall women, handed me a form and asked me to fill in the details
Just the basic details like name, age, weight, height, position I was auditioning for, I filled it quickly
And then came the long silence.
The lady called them One by one and they entered the larger room, where the judges sat.
I finally heard my name after 4 hours , I was nervous but still plastered a smile across my face.
I entered the room, and greeted the three judges , introduced myself
And started my performance , I danced to Monster by Exo.
After finishing it they asked me to sing and rap a couple of verses too , then the main judge got up and walked towards me '' You are too old and you don't fit the standards either, no company would be willing to take the risk of accepting you as a trainee. Just go and work, you are out of age and luck'' He sneered.
Tears were threatening to spill, but none came out. Somehow I knew I was not going to make it. Well, I shouldn't have known myself more than an absolute disappointment.
A few days pass from this incident. Most of my time passed in the cafe, and by taking English lessons. The remaining time was used up in practicing for another audition, holding onto the dear little hope of getting selected for one of them, even thought my chances were slim.
