Izuku was curled up in an underwater cave, fast asleep. He never did sleep in the same one cave. After all, what would the point in that be? It's not like he could really farm underwater. So, he was more nomadic, even though he tried to stay close to Japan, not wandering all that far away. He wasn't sure why, he just did.
Anyway, he was just sleeping in a cave, his scaly tail wrapped around his body. His tail fins were stretched out, covering his face completely. Bubbles flew from his mouth as he let out soft, yet shrill sounding snores. If anyone were there, they would probably say that the sea monster looked cute, but there was no one.
Izuku's tail swayed slightly, as he let out a small, chirp-like yawn. His eyes blearily opened, as the young sea monster began to awaken.
He uncurled himself, stretching his limbs.
He then bolted up, swimming around in the little cave while chirping excitedly. He was almost always full of energy in the mornings, ever since he had been turned into a sea monster. Izuku swam out of the cave, in search for food. Simmilarly to when he was fully human, he was an omnivore.
He swam over to the sea floor, and tugged out a tuff a seaweed. He then began munching on it, giving a few happy chirps. It tasted delicous to him, as his body was modified to eat things that would be found underwater. Izuku finished eating, and began swimming around, his tail swishing around in the water.
The fish all swam away from the sea monster, for fear of being eaten. Izuku didn't mind it, and continued to chirp as he swam around.
The currents flowed through his hair, allowing the green curls to move around freely. His laughter-like chirps continued, as he swam around through the corals. He felt the water filtering through his gills, as he swam as fast as he could go.
He had decided that he wouldn't go up to the surface for awhile, after he had been spotted.
Izuku was aware that people would be searching for him now, and he didn't really feel like going back to the human world. They would all judge him, and think he was a threat. Even with that knowledge, he remained the same, bubbly and energetic sea monster he always had been. Well, for as long as he could remember, anyway. He barely remembered what his life was like as a human.
He didn't care to remember, either. The young sea monster loved his life under the blue depths of the sea. It was his home. His safe place.
It was only natural. A sea monster like him belonged in the ocean. And he was okay with that. In fact, he prefered it that way. The water brought him comfort. He felt like he belonged there, and nothing could ever change that. Nothing. It was who he was, a small, energetic sea monster, that lived in the ocean near the coast of Japan.
The sea monster did underwater twirls and flips, the stream of happy chirps that left his mouth seemed endless. Up until he managed to get his tail stuck in the coral.
Uh oh.
He tried to tug his tail out, only for the coral to scrape, causing for his tail to bleed.
Uh oh...
He tried to kick it free while tugging at his tail, but the bleeding just got worse. He kicked harder in a panic, knowing that sharks were attracted by blood. He did NOT want to be eaten.
In his struggle, Izuku opened up the wounds from the net he got caught in, causing for him to bleed further.
He let out a fearful squeak, trying desperately to free his tail.
Just as he started to slip out of consciousness, he felt something foreign pull his tail free.

Tsuyu stared at the boy she had pulled out of the water with worry. She had bandaged up all of his injuries, and a flap on his nose had seemed to open up, while the gills had closed. She could tell that he had a mutation quirk that allowed him to adapt to underwater enviornments, like her.
He looked as if he had been underwater for a long time, though. He had many strange injuries, which seemed like they would've been obtained in the wild. Had he been abandoned by his parents because of his mutations? It wasn't unheard of..
She saw his green eyes open slowly, an adorable yawn escaping his mouth. His eyes fell on Tsuyu, causing for him to jolt up in an instant, as a nervous sounding chirp escaped his throat. "Hey, I'm not gonna hurt you, kero." Tsuyu said, calming him slightly. At least, he had stopped flailing around. He let out a small chirp as he nodded.
"Can you speak, or are you only able to chirp, kero?" she questioned. His fin ears twitched, "u-uh, yeah..." he chirped out softly, "I-I c-can t-talk... I-I p-prefer ch-chirps, b-but I-I'm a-able t-to..."
Tsuyu nodded, "ribbit, my name is Tsuyu Asui, but call my Tsu. Who're you, kero?"
"I-I'm I-Izuku M-midoriya, a-a s-sea m-monster.." he smiled, indicating that his voice just sounded shaky because he didn't talk much. "Ribbit, so what where you doing in the ocean by yourself?"
"O-oh, I-I live i-in th-the o-o-ocean!! I-it's where I n-naturally belong, s-so I stay out th-there!!" Midoriya said, his bandaged up tail swishing with joy and excitement. "U-uhm, i-it w-was nice t-talking to you, T-Tsu, b-but would i-it be okay i-if I w-went back h-home?"
Tsuyu shook her head, "kero, you probably shouldn't go back to the ocean. Salt might get in the wounds and make it worse, ribbit."
"W-well, wh-where else c-can I g-go..?"
