  "I call it a day."

Exhausted and shivering from the merciless cold outside, Park JiHee slammed the door shut, immediately removing her outdoor boots to welcome the warm atmosphere inside their house. Apparently, today was the first of January, a new year warmly welcomed and celebrated worldwide. A year for a better change, for a better life.

And to JiHee, a new list of New Year's Resolutions.

"You're not very friendly with the weather, aren't you?" JiHee's older sister, YuNi, said as she arranged the pillows on the living room couch. Sitting on it with an apple on her hand, she observed her younger sister with interest. "You looked so tired. Where have you been aside from the chocolate store? Don't tell me you got tired of eating at your favorites?"

"That's absurd, eonni." JiHee chuckled as she puts down two, medium-sized paperbags from her hands. "I did a little bit of shopping. Clothes and stuff."

"Stuff," YuNi repeated. "You mean collections of stationery sets and post-its, right?" She continued munching the apple on her hand.

"You know me well." JiHee answered coolly, grabbing a dark green turtleneck from one of the bags. "Here you go."

YuNi's gleaming eyes confirmed her familiar stare whenever something she likes shows up. "Love lots, my dongsaeng. You know me too well!"

"I know." JiHee rolled her eyes playfully, handing one paperbag to her sister. "Please do me a favor by giving this to our lovely parents who are preparing food at the kitchen. Oh and do save my name on the credits. Thank you, eonni."

YuNi grabbed the paperbag and laughed. "They aren't in the kitchen. They're upstairs, dressing on their polka dot fashion for the whole day. Gotta go, rest well so you could have energy for tonight!" She briefly hugged her younger sister before strolling upstairs to meet their excited parents. JiHee smiled and collapsed on the couch, taking time to relax before digging on the left paperbag containing her stuff. Her eyes sparkled at the sight of the colorful papers that were always adorable for her.

"How could you guys cost cheap with this beauty within you?" She said to herself as she examined every item she bought, taking a good look at every design. At one, particular greeting card, JiHee stopped and the card was suddenly not a card anymore. But rather, a key to some flashback.

To be simple, it was just a greeting card with a cute owl designed on its center. There's a neat text reading 'Happy New Year!' yet it didn't caught the female's tired eyes.

  It was that owl.

   "You looked like an owl!"

"Isn't it a good way to start a conversation with a person who helped you out at first day of class because you're being bullied by insecured students?" That small guy with unbelievably big and round eyes said in a sarcastic manner. However, he continues on patting JiHee's shoes to remove the remaining dust away.

"But I didn't mean it in a bad way." JiHee pouted, slightly disappointed of his misunderstanding. "I'm sorry, okay? I strangely felt like i've done some big mistake to step on you."

"Oh, you just did." The guy answered without hesitation, making JiHee gape in surprise. When he finished dusting her shoes, he sat on the wooden bench beside her. "But if you could be a good friend to me," he paused, turned to look at her and lifted her chin up to close her opened mouth. JiHee felt embarassed, her cheeks having slight hints of pink. "I'll let that pass."
