雨 ━ rain

He shouldn't've bought the plush.

Ichimatsu sat on the bench, drenched in water.

Ichimatsu didn't have enough money to buy a ticket back home, he should've saved the money and listened to Nala back at the pawnshop. Now here he was, clothes stuck to him as rain drips down his body. He didn't know what to do, nor where to go. He was lost. He thought about going back to Nala's because she was the only person he knew in Shibuya, but why would she accept a drenched man into her shop, she doesn't even know him too. Hell, she was probably closed!

Ichimatsu sighs, looking up at the sky as he blinks rapidly when water gets into his eyes and face. Maybe he should've really stayed at home, just taking a nap like he always did. But the thought of (Y/n) was threading through his mind. Ichimatsu grips on his thigh a bit. No, it wasn't her fault that he was here in the rain. It was just him overthinking things and just wandering around a city where he doesn't even live on without being prepared. Yeah, it was just his fault. Not hers.

He puts his hands into his pockets. His right hand jerks away when he feels the plush make contact with his hand. Ichimatsu stared into his abdomen where his pockets rested. The bulge of the plush was noticeable, and he was surprised that the toy wasn't wet.

Why did he buy the plush?

'To give it to (Y/n).'

He chokes on his spit when his mind immediately answers it for him. Did he really? He didn't even notice that it was going to be a gift for her.

Ichimatsu clicks his tongue. 'This is so stupid, you don't even know when she's coming back to visit anyway.' He thinks.

His mind wanders when he remembers (Y/n) sitting next to him at the restaurant, waiting for him, listening to her sing, and learning that she loved Dr. Pepper and had a Scottish Fold.

'She must be pitying you.' His mind concludes. The thought burns into his head as he grows gloomy, instantly growing saddened at the thought. 'Maybe it's true...'

He pulls out the plush.

"But... she likes cats.... right?" He mutters to himself, his thumb rubbing against the artificial fur on the toy. "She... She would like it right...?" Ichimatsu asks himself for confirmation.

He bites his lip as he slips it back into his pocket, not wanting it to get wet.

Ichimatsu would practically spend money on (Y/n) just to see her smile. Who cares if he didn't have money to support himself. He just wanted to see (Y/n)'s smile again, just like she did back at his house.

He takes in a deep breath, eyes shut, lungs burning from how cold and crisp the air was. He just wants to go home and forget that anything happened.

God he was an idiot...

...

Footsteps approached him, "...Ichi?"

'...Ichi?'

He opens his eyes, before they suddenly bulge out of his skull. "(Y/n)-chan?!" He partially screams. He did not expect this at all. What the hell was going on? Why was (Y/n) here? Wasn't it late?

"What're you doing here? It's raining out here!" She says, hoving her umbrella under him. "You're going to catch a cold!"

Ichimatsu opens his mouth to say something, but (Y/n) interrupts him, "Stand up for me, please?" Ichimatsu's cheeks grow pink, still not used to the nickname that she was suddenly calling him all of the sudden. But he didn't complain at her request and stand up, water dripping off of him rapidly from how soaked he was. He was even surprised by how wet his clothes were. "Can you hold the umbrella?" (Y/n) asks, handing Ichimatsu the umbrella. His throat makes a confused grunt, not knowing what she was doing, but takes the hilt of it anyways. Ichimatsu's eyebrows were furrowed. His eyes grow wide and eyebrows raised when (Y/n) takes off her trench coat.
