It was around ten in the morning when a black car with tinted windows turned the corner from Florentine Avenue onto Twenty-first Street. Inside it, the passenger on the front seat leaned forward, peering at the cars parked ahead.
'Is that police?' he asked the driver.
The driver nodded.
The passenger turned to the woman on the backseat, who was reading the City Tribune.
'Excuse me, milady. It appears there is a lot of police outside the warehouse.'
She put down the newspaper and leaned against the window to get a better view. 'Indeed. Our friend Leroy might be in a spot of trouble. How unfortunate. Don't slow the car, please.'
The driver obeyed and the car drove past its original destination. As it was doing so, a man in a blue gray suit stepped out of his own car and walked towards the warehouse gate.
'I believe we've seen that detective before, haven't we?'
'Yes, milady, I think his name is Alpha, he was the one working the cupcake murder.'
'I see, and now he's here...' she sighed. 'Please send our friend a message as soon as possible, Eddie, ask him to take care of this situation and perhaps also let him know about this detective, I think we should keep an eye on him.'
'Yes, milady, and what would you like to do now?'
'Just drive on for a bit and return home when they can't see us anymore.' She opened the newspaper again and continued reading.
