The night was dark and a single light was resinating from Madara's study room. It was late, the moon was shining, and Naruto hasn't had a wink of sleep.

It was a terrible nightmare and it's been the same dream each night ever since he's been healed. It was Naruto standing there in the darkness, standing in front of him was him. The one who watched the years pass by, and then there was that demon. He looked like how he sounded, red burned skin, bubbled up imitating enlarged veins, flaky, eyes dull, hair burned off. The more Naruto stared at it the faster he realized that he wasn't looking at someone else, he was looking at a mirror, that disgusting monster was him.

That is him.

That monster was him.

This is what you deserve! Why didn't you save them, why?!

And that Horrendous voice played through his head repeating itself while showing the image of his dead guardians, till Naruto woke up in a cold sweat. Panting heavily and eyes full of tears he somehow found himself outside the study where Madara worked. Naruto stood there contemplating whether he should go in or not.

"How long will you stand there?" He heard Madara's soothing voice call out. Just hearing that began to put him at ease.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you." Naruto's voice was shaky as he panicked.

"If you want to come in don't hesitate. After all, I am responsible for you."

Naruto really wanted to go in. He was sure Madara could take his mind off of that nightmare and help him feel better. With that Naruto made his way to the door sliding it open. He peeked his head in first. Madara had his hair down, some parts covering his eye and he wore a simple robe. It was a bit too loose exposing the upper part of his chest. Madara met the blonde's eyes for a second to see his distressed state.

"Come sit." He signaled to the spot next to him.

Naruto nodded and closed the door still hesitant but sat down next to him. The black-haired man continued his work writing down information into books.

'It's awkward.' The blonde thought. He sat near the table fiddling with his fingers trying his best not to think about those nightmares. 'I thought I had closure.'

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, Madara finally started a conversation.

"Did something happen?" He asked.

"No, not really." Naruto lied. Something did happen otherwise he wouldn't be there at this hour. He felt scared and he didn't want to go back to sleep with the risk of seeing that again. "Actually, yeah something did happen. I just wanted to..um, not be alone."

Naruto wasn't lying in the slightest but he did realize that saying "hey! You have a soothing voice" was surprisingly embarrassing.

Madara nodded his head and paused his work for a moment. "Would you like to talk about it?"

"No, I don't want to." Naruto felt bad he wasn't able to talk about it. He was sure that he would cry and he's been crying too much these days.

"That's fine. You can stay here for as long as you want. So calm down." He said looking at him and clearly talking about his constant fidgeting.

Naruto was starting to feel at ease. He smiled. He felt the list of debt towards Madara starting to grow. Seeing that Naruto has calmed down Madara continued writing, dipping his brush into the ink.

The silence this time was comforting and peaceful. 'I wonder if I could have this type of silence with Sakura? I doubt it, we're both pretty loud people.'
