DRISHTI
WEDS
YOGENDRA MISHRA

Rakshit was hell angry. He stamped the board with his foot and it collapsed down. Satisfied, he walked inside.
The house was swarming with people going in and out.  Men carrying baskets full of flowers and other stuffs were hurrying. Rakshit, occasionally pushed the baskets from some men. He also destroyed many other decorations. He walked to the stage and jumped to it. He grabbed a mike and caught everybody's attention. He drank a mouth full of beer and started his speech,

"Stop the music! Bas! Listen, for your kind information, yaha aaj koi sagaay-wagaay kuch nahi hone wala. That's it. So, aap me se jo log time waste nahi karna chahte, wo log jaa sakthe he. Aur jin logo ke paas koyi kaam nahi he, yaha bethke thamaasha dekh sakti he. Thank you."

For a moment, the audience went silent. Then murmurs began, which gradually turned to noise.

One man stood up and asked, "arre sharaab peeke bakwas karna band kar aur chale jaa..tum vahi ho na jisne Drishti beti ki pehli shaadi bhi thodi thi? "

Rakshit jumped from the stage, dropping the mike, and went near the man.
He said, "first of all, I am not a bloody drunkard as you think, idiot! Second of all, tumhare baap ke sagaay nahi he na, tho zyaada bak-bak band kar aur dafaa ho jaa yaha se."

He was about to go when another guy said aloud, "tum tho Rakshit Shergill ho naa, hum jaante he. Jo apne khud ke parivaar ke naa ho sake, wo rishton ke ehemiyat kese jaanege. Koyi iske baat na maano, dhol bajao nacho gao..is naalayak sharaabi business tycoon ko jaane do. Khud ka ghar me rehne ke izaazat nahi he isliye baaki logon ke gharo me thamaasha banane......"

Before he could continue his sentence,

["CLLINGGG!!!"]
Rakshit had banged his beer bottle on that guy's head.

Blood oozed from his head, as the glass pieces pierced inside. A crowd gathered around him and took him away to hospital. By that time, majority of the guests had already vanished.

Rakshit walked towards the refreshment counter and took a glass of vine. He muttered something to the waiter, who, as a reply pointed towards a direction. Rakshit walked towards that direction.

He entered a room. A slender, tiny guy was getting ready there. Rakshit snapped his fingers and the rest of the people in the room got out. He walked towards the guy.

Rakshit: "tho tum ho Yogi."

Yogi: "Yogendra Mishra."

Rakshit: "Yogi chalega." And he sat on the dressing table.

Yogi: "me handsome lag raha hu na bhai..bahut nervous hu..first time kar raha hu na sagaay."

Rakshit: "handsome aur tum? Apne aap ko dekha he kabhi? Aaloo jese aankh, okra jese naak, muh jese ki stroke aaya he. Baal ki tho baat hi mat karo. Overall ek jhaadoo jese lag raha he."

He continued blabbering the truth while Yogi stared him with wide eyes. He looked like he will cry soon.

Rakshit: "ye thaadi asli he ki nakli? " he pulled yogi's moustache and it came out. It was a fake one.

Within a second, Rakshit stood up and slapped tightly on Yogi's face. Yogi fell down to the chair with the velocity of the slap.

Rakshit's voice rose, : "MERI DRISHTI SE SHAADI KAROGE THUM? Tumhare himmat kese hui." He pulled Yogi by his collar.

Yogi screamed, : "Mummaa..😭"

A middle aged couple came running to the room, with a young boy of about 14 years, brother of Yogi.

Lady: "kon ho tum?  Ye kya kar rahe ho? Chhodo mere bete ko"

Rakshit: "Shaant auntyji shaant.." he left Yogi and walked towards his family, while Yogi ran and hid behind his father.

Rakshit: "I would like to give you an offer." He grabbed Yogi's brother by his hand and continued, "either aap iss shaadi chhod dijiye, naa tho apne chhote bete ko bhul jaaiye."

The lady, for a moment stared with confused eyes and then said, "hum shaadi thodenge."

Yogi called out, "mumma? " but he became silent when his mother glared him.

Rakshit: "good." He took out a cheque book from his pocket and held it out to the lady. "50 lakhs."
The lady received it quite happily.

Rakshit said to Yogi in his ears, "Drishti meri he. Jab tak meri jaan me jaan he, vo kisi aur ke kabhi nahi honge."

He walked towards the door and stopped seeing a guy standing there.

Sayooj. Drishti's best friend from childhood.

Rakshit: "tumhare dosth ke sar pe akal nahi he kya? Pehle ek bandhar, ab ye jhadoo. Koi mannat mangi he vo, ki sirf dambo rishte jodenge apne sath? "

Sayooj kept mum. Rakshit walked away.

He advanced towards his car when suddenly he felt her presence. His neck involuntarily turned to a side and he saw Drishti. Drishti, his heart repeated her name.

She was wearing a beautiful lehanga and looked ethereal. Yogi's mother was muttering something to her and her step- family. Her chacha was trying to make Yogi understand and her chaachi almost looked like dead. Drishti was silent. She was hearing all the convo without any emotion. Suddenly, she lifted her head a little and saw Rakshit in the distance.

They were not talking to each other.they weren't even standing close. But their eyes were locked each other.
Rakshit, who behaved with the ferociousness of a tiger even with his family, felt lost whenever he saw her. His life was clinged on her. His heart sank whenever he saw her, whenever he look at her eyes, whenever he heard that name.

Rakshit, though he didn't wanted to, broke the eyelock and got into his car. While a lonely tear escaped Drishti's eyes.
