Jesses pov
My paws hit the ground as I leaped the log, my breath comes out in fogs and I knew the men, who had hurt me since I was two, were hot on my tail. My instinct was to fight but I knew I would not win.
I had been running for three hours and it was starting to get to me, my life was at the mercy of my wolf. I looked around me, woods surround me.
I rushed down the hill hoping to lose the men, the wound along my side hurt like a bitch but i kept going, knowing they would kill me if they caught me.
The sun had come up about an hour ago and the simple tones of wolf eyes caught the subtle changes in light.My legs are aching and my fur is soaked with blood my blood I think.
weariness fills me, my legs falter and I know I have to lose them. I sniff the air there's a tunnel up ahead i think, I veer to the right and dive through the tunnel, I can hear the shouts as they try to follow me.
I turn in a circle trying to find a way out, at the end there is a little hole i hope its a way out I think.I pad slowly towards the hole, keeping my hearing on the nearing hunters.I snarl when i see the hole does not lead to an exit.
My breathing starts to become shallow and dizziness swamps my senses, I whimper feeling hopelessness filing me. I go back to the hole and start to dig knowing it's the only chance i will get to freedom, The hunters close in and before i know it i'm surrounded. Shit what do i do now?!I think to myself.
Just as I lift my muzzle in a howl of defeat and mourning, a pack of werewolves attack with swift accuracy effectively dispatching my attackers and save me from more pain.I snarl anyway, trying to defend myself against this pack who came into my territory.
The leader tilts his head then sits down why haven't they attacked me? I wonder, the other alpha -the female- turns and runs out of the tunnel. I sit down but keep my guard up, after a while the female returns holding a bag of ... rags? I think.
The weakest wolf phrases first, his fur reseeds and his bones break and reform as human. The rest of the pack phrases and dress. The leader has jet black hair and daunting blue eyes, the alpha female has the same jet black hair and blue eyes brother and sister? maybe even twins?I think to myself.
The leader tilts his head like he did when he was in wolf form, telling me he's not a threat. I nod to tell him he is safe to settle down and he does, I watch as he gently sits down where he did in wolf form. I eye them all suspiciously and get up to leave.
Dizziness engulfs me holding me prisoner, "hey it's ok and i'm Kayden by the way" the leader - Kayden- says.I just nod, unable to speak in my wolf form.
Pain spreads through my body, the phrases is taken out of my hands because i'm too weak to hold it. My fur disappears and my bones break and reform human. I cry out when the phrases is complete. Kayden cast a worried glance towards me then speaks quietly to his pack members.
"Lets get you home mate, your safe with us" kayden tells me. I lift my lips over my teeth showing him i'm not happy about this. I yell out in pain when he gently picks me up.
Walking back through the woods i feel the freedom i wanted start to come true that's if this pack let me livei think to myself. My body goes limp as Kayden starts to run, " whats wrong?" i shout but i don't think he hears me as my words all slur into one.
I lean my head to the side and spot what Kayden and his pack are running from, more hunters are surrounding us. "it's going to be ok" he says to me, then yells orders to his pack who are already attacking the hunter giving us some time to escape.
Running out of the woods i see the thing that got him here what is that thing? I wonder, i'm brought back to present when he puts me in the back then puts what looks like ropes around me.
I watch helpless as his pack fight for me and they are getting hurt for me. I smell the scent of blood and it's much stronger, "kayden? " i yelp. He turns around and his eyes widen. Shouting for his pack his start the thing i'm in.
His pack climb in and i let darkness fill me, my memories surface and i'm pulled into the nightmare i have faced for years.
