Alex Santiago was lost in time as he knew it. He didn't know where he was, didn't know when he was.

("On April the first, twenty-nineteen, the Earth was destroyed in a cataclysmic event.")

When Alex was twenty-nine, he met his partner's family, the dysfunctional system they ran with. Together, they found out about the end of the world, and that they needed to stop it. Alex did his best to help, given the situations thrown into their lives.

("Billions of people were wiped out in a matter of minutes.")

Alex knew of alternate endings to the apocalypse - the one where he survived, and the love of his life was dead. He knew how the apocalypse was supposed to go. He knew that he, Diego, and the others would do their best to make sure that the apocalypse wouldn't happen.

("Ironically, the six survivors of the apocalypse were the very siblings who brought it on.")

They failed. Alex died, and Diego mourned, revealing his intentions of marrying Alex before the end of the world. Now things had changed, and Alex would have to watch Diego refuse to move on from him, try and avenge him and try to kill the woman who had murdered him.

("Hold on! This could get messy!")

Alex didn't know where they were going to end up. They had to try and fix the mistakes they had made, try and make sure the end of the apocalypse didn't happen. It was their responsibility, and they were going to stop the apocalypse, even if it killed them. Again.
