"Again? Let me guess, you had to pick her up again."
"No, her parents came this time. She just called me. Apparently it's her last warning."
Carlie rolled her eyes purposefully. "Well obviously. Doesn't she understand that she's ruining her future?" The titters in Nyomi's bedroom had diminished, and the only sound were Cleo's sighs of disappointment from the phone. "Yeah, she said that she wouldn't do it again. Mind you, she said that last time." Carlie agreed, and said that she would speak to Layla about her behaviour soon. "Well, I'm in the middle of a sleepover, so I should probably get back to it. Don't want to ruin the night further." Cleo gasped, and said, "I'm so sorry! I had no idea! You should get back to it! Sorry for ruining your night! But, please come down sometime tomorrow. Maybe 4?" Carlie said that it was fine, since she would rather know from her cousin than find out from Layla, and also that she would get her father to drop her at Middleton Town at 4 the next day. Cleo said thank you, goodbye and hung up. Carlie put down her phone angrily and looked up to see seven teenage faces staring at her expectantly. She rolled her eyes and explained. "Layla, my friend, broke into a church again."
"Again?!" came the shocked shouts of the girls. Carlie nodded, "Yep, this is the third time." The girls' mouths were hanging wide open at this point. There was an awkward silence in the room until Ellie asked, "Why is she your friend again?" Carlie laughed. "Good question."* * *
Zayne sat on Jamie's sofa, utterly bored. His phone had died, and the other boys didn't seem like they wanted to talk. After Everett found out from Carlie that the girls were having a sleepover, him and Jamie had unsurprisingly arranged a 'boys night' without consulting either him, Tyron or Callux. Therefore, he was sitting on a leather sofa while Callyx and Everett were texting people - Nyomi and Carlie, no doubt -, Tyron was nowhere to be seen (probably eating or something) and Jamie was watching some type of anime or something on his laptop. He inhaled sharply and put his head in his hands. This was going to be a long night.

"So that's why you seemed off yesterday!" The girls laughed after Millie had explained that one of her favourite characters in her number 1 show had died the previous episode and the 'Layla situation' had subsequently been forgotten. Unfortunately for them, they were rudely interrupted by another phone call, however it wasn't Carlie's phone this time. It was Nyomi's. "Can't we get a minute to ourselves around here?" she exclaimed loudly. However, she cringed when she read the name that had popped up. Eira. She begrudgingly pressed accept and faked a happy voice. "Hey, Eira, what's up?" A huff came from the other end before, "You didn't invite me to your sleepover, that's what's up! I thought we were best friends!" Nyomi winced. She knew that she had forgotten something. "Nyomi?!" Ellie hissed, "Seriously? Say something!" 'Sorry,' mouthed Nyomi. Suddenly, I lightbulb went off in her head. She had a cunning plan. "I'm so sorry Eira, my mother said I could only invite 7 so I picked names out of a hat and yours didn't come out." Carlie grinned, and Nyomi continued, "I didn't want to tell you in case I upset you."
"Oh," was the response from Eira. "I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. How about we hang out in the week sometime, just you and me?" Nyomi nodded, before remembering it was an audio call and added, "Sounds great! I'll text you tomorrow, yeah? Bye!" Eira hung up after that. Nyomi was immediately approached by Carlie, who was saying in a dectective-like voice, "Well well well. Nyomi Wilkins, using MY method of getting out of sticky situations. I must say, I'm impressed. I didn't know you had it in you, to be honest." Nyomi slowly smiled. "Well, there's a lot you don't know about me." Before Carlie could question her further, she asked everyone to turn their phones onto silent mode so they wouldn't be interrupted again. The girls all agreed, and spent the next hour playing Would You Rather.* * *
Even though the girls were finally enjoying themselves distraction-free, the same could really not be said for Zayne. Tyron had finally arrived from whatever wardrobe that led to Narnia he had disappeared to a while ago but he was being just as boring as the rest of them. Texting some girls. Oh well. Not as bad as watching anime, he supposed. Zayne was starting to wonder if one of the wardrobes really did lead to Narnia as he could really use a distraction at that point. He leaned back in the sofa, tired of the position he had been sitting in for the past two hours. Also, his arm was starting to fall asleep. This was going to be an even longer night than what he originally thought.
