"Is this going to be our thing now?" He asked almost smirking but still nervously.
An unsure laugh escaped my lips. "Maybe? Would that be a bad thing?" Biting my bottom lip I was waiting for his answer, wondering when exactly did I get this flirtatious.
Scratching his neck he thought to himself, he looked pretty serious even if I just made a joke. "Usually it would be but with a pretty like yourself I guess I can get used to it. Shall I wear more hoodies so you won't bump you're head as hard on me?"
I couldn't stop the smile on my face "How conscientious of you" that being said I took the first best seat and sat my sorry ass down. And so did he, some place else. How embarrassing. I wish I could have stoped the blush that crept up my cheeks but I couldn't. At least he was friendly even though he made fun of me, almost gentlemen like even. If it was me that someone bumped into I would probably flip out in this face, I wish I was as chilled. Don't get me wrong I was friendly and pretty introverted but I think it's kinda disrespectful. Coincidences like this happen and it's normal but twice in just two days... sounds pretty much like they did it on purpose.Still shaking my head to myself and probably freaking out the middle aged lady next to me because I might have spoken to myself accidentally, I reached my destination.
Getting off the train and pretending I didn't see the secret smirk the dude gave me upon seeing me, I was glad that work would probably take my mind off everything that has happened.
Arriving I smelled the lovely sent of roses and lavender. "Hi Sophie" I greeted my boss with a big smile. "Oh, Hi Thia. Didn't really expect you to be this early ".
"It's eight o'clock already... " I said confused. "Yeah that's why-" she laughed "you're not usually on time. If you weren't such a genius with flowers you'd be fired you know that, don't you?"
That only made me pout, "meanie head" I said.Still laughing she told me she would make us some coffee and that I should start doing whatever I thought was necessary.
If you didn't notice I'm working in a flower shop. Not the usual flower shop where you can buy only bouquets though.
I usually repot plants or safe plants from dying that costumers brought us in. Sometimes they get overwhelmed taking care of them or did something wrong. So if you buy a plant in our shop we take care of future problems too, or holiday stay at least if we're able to.
We do make bouquets though but usually on reservation because we feel a tiny bit bad about the short life... so we decided to only sell them part time and potted plants and caring for them is our main goal.
At first I thought it's weird to offer a service of reviving almost dead plants... I liked it a lot but what's the point because that's not what economy usually does...but you wouldn't believe me how many people actually come back and even pay lots of money for this extra service or give high tips. I was really amazed and on top of that is Sophie my boss the nicest sweetheart you'll ever meet. Next to me there are two other workers. A guy named Oliver, 28 years old who's only working part time because he's a single dad and has to support his six year old baby girl who recently started to go to primary school. And Ella. Ella is something else. She's almost in her 40's very attractive for her age and always hitting on my ass. She doesn't take no for an answer but she scares the living daylights out of me. She is mean as hell and everyone has to be extra careful talking to her because she can turn your own words onto you in such a toxic way it's not even dark-humor funny anymore.
Lucky she only works for two days a week.Entering the back area I see Oliver sitting over a wedding bouquet "Good morning, Thia". Every time I see him I just have to smile, he's such a sweetheart. "Hi Olli! How are you? And how is Chrissy doing?" - "Same old. Today she wanted some weird fishtail braid I was so confused what she meant and had to Google it. I couldn't do it one bit and was even more confused" he said. „Aww its not that hard I'll show you how to do it, you just need a little bit of practice!" I encouraged him. Chrissy is the cutest thing ever. She visits us a lot and it's totally my fault Oliver has to braid her hair weirdly every day because that's what I usually do when she's at our shop and I have a bit of free time. He laughs „thanks, Thia".
And that's my cue to start working.
