Hazel's POV

"Do you think it will work?" Asked Pope.

"I have no idea," I said. Me and Pope were currently hanging out by ourselves right now at his place.

"It's just been so frustrating lately," groaned Pope. To put our conversation in context, with the power back on, we can now use our electronics. Pope's computer though, hasn't been working the best since the power outage, and Pope doesn't like not knowing what's wrong with it.

Pope tried to turn his computer on once again, and of course it was just a black screen once again. I could see Pope get more mad by the second. "Pope just calm down. It'll work sometime, and if it doesn't just save up to buy another one," I said.

"It would be a lot easier though if it would just turn on," said Pope.

"Just give it time," I said. He has been complaining about his stupid computer for forever, so I've just given up trying to help. It's more annoying now more than anything.

"It's been a week! How much more time for a it need," said Pope.

"A lot more time," I said sarcastically. "Now Pope, let's actually do something fun and not stare at a broken computer all day." Pope groaned again and finally got off of his computer and sat down next to me.

"I'm sorry that all I've been complaining about is my computer," said Pope as he side hugged me. "I was just really looking forward to using it." I laughed since I knew he was over exaggerating the situation.

"It's fine," I laughed. "But seriously though what do you want to do. You've been trying to figure out the computer all day." Pope seemed to think about it for a moment.

"Surf. We haven't surfed in forever cause of everything that's been happening," said Pope.

"Hell yeah! Let's do it!" I said as I jumped up from sitting down excitedly. I've been dying to surf recently I just didn't want to do it alone.

"Jesus," laughed Pope as he got up as well. "You have a swimming suit here from who knows when, and then I have my old board that you can use."

"Why did I leave my swimming suit here?" I asked as he threw the suit at me. It was in fact mine.

"I don't know. I'll change in the bathroom. You change here," said Pope as he grabbed his shorts and went to the bathroom. Although we have seen each other naked, we still like to respect each other.

I quickly changed into my bikini, and sat back down on Pope's bed as I waited for him. Not even a minute later Pope came back changed, and with our boards.

"Here you go," said Pope as he gave me it. I examined it, and realized that this was the board I got him for his fourteenth birthday.

"Hey! You still have this board," I laughed.

"Why would I throw it away? You gave it to me," said Pope as we made his way to the front door.

"I don't know. I just assumed since your parents got you a better board later on," I said as we left his house.

"I know, but I wouldn't throw something away that you gave me," laughed Pope.

"Aww, your so sweet!" I said as I kissed his cheek.

Walking to the beach was the most peaceful thing I've witnessed in a hot minute. We were just walking with our boards in one hands, and our other hands holding hands, but it was so nice. Sometimes I wish we could just forget about John B. I know that sounds bad, but the chance of him being alive is slim, and it's just better to expect the fact that he might be dead.

"Oh god! Why!" Groaned Pope as he stopped walking. I got out of my tranced and looked at Pope.

"What's wrong?" I asked confused.

"Look at the beach," said Pope. I looked over and tried to find what he meant. I kept looking when my eye caught something.

"What the fuck," I said quietly. There was Rafe just by himself on the beach tanning or whatever. This was the first time I've even seen Rafe since everything. "Why can't we just have one good day."

"Let's just try to ignore him and surf," said Pope as he started walking again.

"I mean, okay," I said as I caught up with Pope. We then ran up to the ocean and got in the water. We got on our boards and paddled out. I then looked behind us and saw Rafe staring at me and Pope.

"Pope, he is looking," I whispered.

"What about ignoring did you not understand. Don't look at him," said Pope.

"Yeah well when a murderer is looking at you. I think it's kinda hard to ignore it," I said.

"Let's just have fun and surf, okay?" Said Pope.

"Okay," I said hesitantly. Even though I wanted to be positive right now. I just know something bad is going to happen.

Ignoring my thought, me and Pope began surfing. At first we were a little rusty from not doing it in such a long time, but we quickly got the hang of it. Needless to say, I forgot about Rafe.

"This is what I call a good wave!" Yelled Pope as he got back up on his board and surfed over a wave. I just laughed as I watched him completely wipe out.

"A good wave huh? Must've been so good that it made you weak to your knees so that you couldn't stand," I said as Pope came back up to the surface.

"Shut up," laughed Pope as he sat on his board. "I almost had it."

"You call that almost having it! You literally fell the first second that wave went under you!" I laughed.

"I wasn't that bad," said Pope.

"Pope, you were that bad," I said.

"Whatever, let's get out. I'm tired," said Pope as he laid on his stomach and started to paddle bad to shore.

"You are just saying that cause you don't want to wipe out again," I said as I followed after Pope.

"No I'm not. I'm actually tired," said Pope. "With surfing and figuring out my computer. I'm tired."

"Oh my god. Again with this computer shit," I groaned.

"Okay fine! I'll stop talking about it," laughed Pope as we stood up since the water was swallow enough. We got out of the water and sat at the shore line with our boards next to us.

"Do you think we will find John B and Sarah?" Asked Pope. I sighed not completely sure of the answer.

"I want to obviously, but I just have a bad feeling that they... died," I said.

"If they are really dead. How is JJ going to take it? I mean he is a wreck now even though he is convinced they are still alive," said Pope.

"I don't know. I'm just scared for him. He's basically lost everything," I said.

"Hey you two!" Yelled a familiar voice behind us cutting off our conversation. Me and Pope looked behind and saw the one thing we didn't want to see. Rafe.

Sorry if this chapter is crappy. I don't really know anything about surfing, so I tried my best to write about it.

I still do hope you enjoyed it though!
