Chiara kept looking up at Celso, saying nothing. Celso finally looked up.
"Yes?" Chiara's face turned into a light shade of pink. She cleared her throat.
"Well, I-I'm all balled up. I don't understand. Why did you take me in? I know you don't like me." She put her fork down, it still had a piece of chicken on it.
"Hmm." Celso looked back down at the table and picked up his cup filled with Campari. Chiara scoffed.
"You should answer when someone talks to you!" She wiped her mouth with a napkin and stood up.
"I think you should relearn basic manners!" She threw the napkin on the table.
Celso turn to his right and looked up to be met by the man shaking his head.
"Your a hopeless bimbo." Tarso shook his head once again and left. Celso just looked at Chiara with confusion. She sighed and left, no longer feeling hungry.
Later that same day, Celso decided to apologize even though he still didn't understand but Jen told him it would be a good idea. He decided to listen to the maid and went down the hallway to Chiara's room. He knocked and got a reply.
"Yes?" Chiara's voice rang from inside the room. The room was mostly empty besides a bed and small table. The wall's were a maroon color with white base boards. Celso took a deep breath and opened the door.
"Celso?" She scoffed once more and continued to brush her hair.
"I've come to apologize to you." He was still by the doorway and was standing there completely tense. She sat there for a moment but turned around a little and patted the bed beside her.
"Fine, you're lucky I'm a forgiving person." She watched him stand in the doorway.
"Come sit down." She patted the bed again.
He ran a hand through his hair trying to calm himself from feeling bad about being in her room.
"Ok, but first, are you okay? Your acting weird." She put her hand on his back making him jump slightly, which surprised her as well. It was her first time seeing him uncomfortable.
He shrugged, after lunch he didn't stop drinking. He would get drunk on specific days and no one knew why. He seemed to hate these days the most, and those who didn't know him would think it's cause he felt bad about dumping a girl or having a girl dumping him.
"Why?" She lied him down so he wouldn't fall over.
"It's one of my days." He complied with her and lied down smoothly.
"What days? What does that mean?" She put the blanket over him. He snuggled into the pillows.
"Ask Tarso." His voice faded out until it became nothing. She sighed. She walked out of the room and walked into his room. She sat on his bed and then lied down herself. Chiara could only think of Celso's words though, "It's one of my days."
"What could that mean?" She asked herself before drifting off.
The morning was very eventful, and started when Jen went to wake up Celso.
"Sir! It's time for you to wa- AAA!!" She screamed as she saw the young woman in the bed and not Celso. The food tray that she held was now on the floor and Chiara saw sitting up in the bed.
"Di-did the two of you-?" Jen moved her hands around not wanting to say what she thought out loud.
"What? No!" Chiara knelt up on the bed and then got off it. Jen only watched, her face still written with shock on it.
"He was drunk and came to talk to me last night, he fell asleep on my bed. So I decided to steal his bed for the night."Chiara waved her hands in a frantic motion.
"That's not how a lady should act Ms Chiara!" Jen started scolding her for going into someones room uninvited and the fact that it was a boys room made it worse. Chiara just stood there with her lip sticking out, Jen completely ignoring the girls pouting and the fact the she had to wake up Celso before 7 am or he would miss a meeting with some very important people.
"Mrs Jen! Don't you have to wake up the master?" Tarso came to Chiara's rescue. She sighed in relief. Jen turned to Chiara and wagged her finger one more time and then walked away to Chiara's room.
"Your lucky, Ms Chiara. But next time do come to wake me up. I'll help you find another room to sleep in. If it's before 9 pm I'll still be up." Tarso gently smiled at her, and she gave one in return.
"Understood, Tarso. But is it really that bad? He wasn't in the room with me. " Tarso shook his head at her question.
"It's just not the best thing to do. Also if Celso is drunk, please stay away from him Ms. He's not the best drunk." He nodded to her and then patted her shoulder and walked off. Chiara remembered what she wanted to ask Tarso but didn't think it was the best time to go after him. So instead she walked back to her room and found Celso holding his head in pain from the choices of the day before. Jen was scolding him for falling asleep in Chiara's bed. She stood in the doorway watching the scene before her amused, a small smirk formed on her lips. Celso turned for a split moment to the door and saw her. A idea came to him and he stopped Jen from continuing on with her scolding.
"You know how I am when drunk." He mumbled and rubbed his head some more.
"Doesn't matter!" Jen yelled.
"Jen, don't yell." He spoke coldly. She shut her mouth.
"You have a meeting soon, sir. You need to get ready." She bowed. He sighed and stood up. He patted her shoulder and walked out of the room.
