BUTTERFLIES
It truly was a very interesting and aesthetically pleasing cafe.
The theme of the cafe Taehyung worked at was of course pastel colours and butterflies. The cafe tried to pretty much 'bring the outdoors indoors.' They used wood for floors and for the tables and chairs as well. Potted plants were stuffed in the corners of the cafe, a section of the floor was covered in a fake grass rug. Fairy lights hung on the walls and fake vines dangled from the ceiling.
A large pair of butterfly wings were painted on an empty wall, where people often stood and posed in front of to take photos. Butterflies made out of paper were framed on the walls and were hung from the ceiling with a piece of string. The overall colour scheme was different shades of blue, which also happened to be Taehyung's favourite colour.
There was actually also a section of the cafe that was like a large glass enclosure or greenhouse, where they kept real butterflies, flying around in a flowery ecosystem. Oftentimes, young children with their parents would stand next to the tall, glass enclosure and point at certain butterflies that caught their eye.
Taehyung loved working at this cafe for that reason, he would meet the most adorable young children here. Sometimes he would feel a tug on his sleeve in the middle of a shift and look down to see the large eyes of a young child looking up at him. They would smile a usually toothy smile at him and ask him questions about the butterflies.
"Mister, what butterfly is that one?" One kid had asked Taehyung one day, he pointed to the glass enclosure, aiming at a specific butterfly resting upon a purple flower. The butterfly was dark blue to black with rows of yellow spots along the edges of its hind wings and forewings. It also has a blue band of spots and reddish orange eyespots on its hind wings.
"That's a black swallowtail butterfly." Taehyung had replied. "It can represent inspiration, intuition, consciousness and inner beauty." He said as he softly booped the kid on the nose, making him laugh happily.
Needless to say, Taehyung loved his job.
He adored the people he worked with, and enjoyed talking to kids and seeing them smile. He showed up to work extra early every day because he was so dedicated and loved the place so much. He wasn't allowed inside the glass enclosure where the beautiful insects were as he wasn't a trained professional, but he was fine with just observing them from outside.
One day, while Taehyung was making an iced americano for one of the customers, he heard the front entrance of the cafe open, the top of the door hitting the little bell hung above it. He immediately turned his head in the direction of the door. "Hello, good afternoon and welcome." He said cheerily, then Taehyung managed to get a good look at the person who walked in.
The person who walked in was a young male, wearing a large, white collared shirt with loose sleeves, the soft fabric seemed to ripple as a light breeze blew. Contrary to the shirt, the male wore tight, dark jeans and also had on a pair of black running shoes.
His dyed hair seemed to be a mix of several different colours and seemed to change as well. Taehyung saw shades of blue, white, light grey, and purple at the tips. His hair also seemed to sparkle, it fell in front of his forehead in a bit of a wave and covered one of his eyes slightly.
This boy looked ethereal, Taehyung just couldn't take his eyes off the male who just entered the building. In fact he even seemed to glow when he smiled at Taehyung, his eyes grew a little smaller when he smiled and for a moment, Taehyung swears he forgot to breathe for a second, no exaggeration.
"Hi there!" One of Taehyung's co-workers at the cafe greeted the male by the door. "How may we help you?"
"Oh, I'm not here to buy anything, I would just like to look at the butterflies, would that be okay?" The man said.
