I took a bubblebath, wore a blue polo and denim shorts, and went down to wait for Jake. About 5 minutes later, he arrived in his black Hummer wearing his varsity jacket and low hanging jeans. I soooo love my boyfriend.  He kissed me and helped me get in his car. After a 10-minute drive, we arrived in school.

"See you later baby." He said and kissed me again.

I wasn't able to pay attention to class because.. I have to admit I'm still troubled by my "dream."

"Wake up, daydreamer!" said Savannah, the bitchiest person in school.
"What?" I replied, puzzled.
"Uhh, I've been talking to you non-stop since like.. 5 minutes ago and you haven't even said a single word. What the hell is wrong with you today?"
"Nothing. Nothing's wrong." I smiled to her, trying to sound normal.
"We both know that's a lie. Come on. Spill."
"No really, it's nothing. It's just a dream." I tried to sound as casually as I can.
"Okay. Whatever." And then she rolled her eyes at me and went back to filing her nails.

Bitch. The ear-splitting sound of the bell got me to my senses.

"Finally." I said. I got to my feet and went to the cafeteria.
"Hey, Elena! Wanna sit together?" a voice behind me said.

It was Jane. With her face-splitting smile. It does not suit her. At all.

"Oh hey, Jane. Err.. sorry, I'm sitting eith Jake and the others. Maybe next time?" I smiled back.

Or never?

"Oh right, the popular ones." she said, and walked out on me.

What the hell? I mean, what the hell. It's not my fault I couldn't be seen with her! She's a freaking loser! A popular couldn't be friends with a loser, let alone be seen with them. Rules of high school.

"Hey guys!" I said while sitting beside Jake.
"Hey beautiful," he said while putting his arms around my shoulders. "Want some pizza?"
"No thanks, I'm on a diet."
"Hey guys, did you hear? We have a transfer student." Savannah said.
"Yeah but I bet he's gonna end up like Elaine's loser friend. What was her name again? Jam, is it? Ji-ji-Jim? Jay? Who cares." Leonard said, the bitch's boyfriend.

I clenched my fist in irritation. That was too much! But that's all I could ever do. Clench my fist, and grit my teeth, that's all. I have never fought for her, never complained or even said anything against them. Not once, because I was afraid of losing my popularity. I worked hard for it, I earned it. And I deserved it.

"It's Jane. And she's not my friend."

She's my bestfriend. Since I was young she was always with me. She was my shoulder to cry on. And yet this is what I do to her...

"Yeah, ofcourse. You should've cut all ties with her, right?"
"Definitely."

Not.

"Hey you guys done talking yet? I stopped listening when you mentioned Elaine's loser friend. As I wa--"
"SHE. IS NOT. MY FRIEND!" I screamed at her face and I could feel everyone's eyes on me.
"Whoa, chill. Why are you so defensive?" She smirked.

Asshole.

"As I was saying," she continued as if nothing happened. "I heard he's hot. And he's from New York. Rich kid. Might join us. I mean, who wouldn't, right?"
"Yeah, whatever. I'm going home." I just said.
"Hey let me drive you." Jake said.

I was about to agree when Savannah butted in.

"Hey, Jake. We have this project to start on, remember?"
"Oh right..." He said and looked apologetically to me.

I guess I have no choice.

"It's okay baby. Really. I can hitch a ride," I lied to him and gave him a kiss. "See you tomorrow!"
"Bye babe." He said and flashed his dazzling smile that I love so much.
