"Everyone, I have an announcement. Please gather beneath the oak tree", Delphfox said. Mewtwo was standing beside her.
I tensed. I knew I had to go to the meeting, no matter how much I hated the idea. I walked over to the oak tree and stood beside Absol. She was talking to Charizard. Charizard used to be one of my friends. We stopped being friends when he said I was no fun anymore and stupid.
Charizard glared at me. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm standing beside my friend, I objected. Is there anything wrong about that?"
Venusaur joined in. He used to be one of my friends too. "Lucario , do you mind not being a jerk for once?!"
I said nothing. The meeting was about to start anyway.
Delphox began: "I gathered you all here to make an announcement, an announcement you should all be happy with".
I know I won't, I thought.
"Mewtwo is been with our tribe for two weeks, and I'm proud to say he will be staying here permanently, Delphox continued. Mewtwo, do you promise to always be loyal above everything else?"
Mewtwo nodded.
"Then it's official. Mewtwo is our newest member of the tribe!"
Everyone started Cheering: "Mewtwo!
Mewtwo!"
I didn't join in.
The sun had finally set. About a Quarter of the tribe was still hanging out with Mewtwo, even though the announcement was at noon. I was watching the sunset at the top
Of the hill, wondering if my father was watching me right now. (Which I wondered everyday) There was a slight breeze coming from the west.
"What's up?" I heard Absol behind me. I turned around. The wind was ruffling Absols white fur, her blue eyes full of amusement.
"Nothing much".
She sat beside me. "Are we still friends Lucario?"
"Of course, why wouldn't we be?" I asked.
"Well, you've been kinda drifting away from me. You've been shutting out the rest of the world", Absol wasn't looking at me. I had to admit, she was right.
"And I still don't understand why you don't trust Mewtwo, Absol continued. There's nothing-
"Hey beautiful!" It was Mewtwo. I scowled.
"Oh, uh, Mewtwo! Absol said, clearly surprised. What are doing-"
Mewtwo looked at me. "Oh, Lucario is this your Girlfriend?"
I flattened my ears. "No she's not my girlfriend. Now get lost".
"Whatever you say jerk", Mewtwo said, then Walked away.
"I'm sorry about him, Absol looked at her paws. He's just-"
"Trying to antagonize me, I know, I said. I guess I better get used to it".
"I'm gonna make sure Mewtwo isn't gossiping about you, Absol rose to her paws. I'll talk to you later, okay Lucario?"
"Yeah". Absol padded away.
Better if she leaves, I thought. I have to stop Mewtwo before something bad happens.
