In this chapter, you get to meet the parents, mostly Queen Charming! Anyways, on to the story!
~~
The ride in the family carriage was peaceful and slightly award. As the Charming castle came into view, the carriage came to a halt. Everyone stepped out and servants came to take care of their belongings. All three of the siblings stepped onto the beautifully sculpted stairs and hesitantly pulled the doors open, one by one each one stepped inside. The interior of the family castle was filled with amazingly painted family portraits of former and current Charmings, grand chandeliers hung from the ceiling and servants were bustling around the halls. All three were worried, some more than others. As Darling and Daring headed up to their rooms to get organized, Dexter stood in the entry way thinking of how tonight was going to go down at dinner.
___
~Dexter's POV~I can already feel the mother-goosebumps forming on my skin. I really did not think this through enough, on the bright side we haven't seen our parents yet.
"My babies!"
Speak of the fairy.
"Hello, mother." I politely greeted her as she engulfed me in a hug. You could say that I've always been mom's favorite.
"How's my charming baby boy?" She asked while pinching my cheek.
"I'm just fairest mom. Where's dad?" I asked.
"Oh he's in the throne room, he'll be down in a moment. Now where are your siblings, Dexterous." She questioned while regally clapping her hands.
"Well that didn't last long.." I murmured under my breath. "Darling and Daring headed upstairs to their rooms."
"Wonderful. I'll say hello to them momentarily. In the meantime, Dexterous, go get ready for tonight's homecoming ball."
"Wait-- did you just say we're throwing a-"
"Toodle-oo!" She said while heading upstairs.
A family ball for us coming home?! That's never happened before-- ever. I need to ask dad about that right away, that is if he can even bother to talk to me. I grabbed my backpack, that I had sat beside me, and slung it over my shoulder while heading up the stairs entering my room. I'm surprised that it looked the same way that it did before I left, usually mom changes things up while I'm gone. I sat my bag down by my desk and collapsed on my bed. I'll only have a few hours to rest before the tailor start prepping me for my suit; I royally hate suits. My eyes closed and I started drifting to sleep, but that didn't last very long; one of the servants woke me up.
"Monsieur Charming, your father wishes to speak to you and your siblings." She told me.
"Okay. Thanks Millicent." I said while putting on my glasses.
"You are welcome, Monsieur." She waved goodbye while closing the door behind her.
I really don't like talking with dad, he always compares me to Daring, but I have to go downstairs sooner or later.

~Darling's POV~Just as I had finished organizing my closet, my mother came in with a huge smile on her face.
"Hello my darling daughter." She said while hugging me.
"Hi mom." I replied, accepting her hug.
"How's my charming baby girl?" Mom asked.
"Oh, um I'm just fine." I said.
"Wonderful, so how's school? Keeping your grades up I hope."
"Yes, mother, my grades are perfect." I told her.
"Fairest."
"Yep."
"So..." She started, "Any boyfriend that I should know about?" She asked, suddenly changing to subject.
"Mom!" I shouted, blushing rapidly from embarrassment.
She let out a soft laugh, "Relax, Darling. A Charming princess never raises her voice."
"I'm sorry...I just...It's just...I don't really...umm..."
"You don't what?" She questioned, while raising her perfectly sculpted eyebrow.
"I umm....Well, you see, I don't hexactly like-" I was close to saying it when Millicent came through the door, telling me that my father wanted to talk to us. Thank Grimm she did. Mom and I headed downstairs all princess-like to the throne room, Daring was already sitting in his chair, admiring himself in a mirror. I wonder where Dexter was.
"Darling, please take a seat." Dad gestured the chair next to Dexter's. I sat.
"Where's your brother?" He asked the two of us.
"Probably still unpacking his things, Father." Daring told him.
"Of course he is. Millicent, please go fetch my...son." He said bluntly.
"No need to, father, he's right there." I pointed out. My mother looked at me with the "only speak when spoken to " face.
"Sorry I'm late everyone." Dexter apologized while fixing his glasses.
"You're late, again, Dextron."
"It's Dexter, not Dextron." I murmured
"What was that, Darling?" Father questioned.
"Erm..Nothing, Father." I quickly recovered as Dexter sat down beside me. "Thanks" he whispered. I smiled back.
Time to mentally brace myself for whatever he had to say.
