Adonis briskly walked through the streets of D.C. desperately trying to avoid human contact. As he walked toward a metro that he read about, he saw an old withered man who had seemed to be selling out of date newspapers newspapers.

The man would call out very loudly. "Murderer to protect the city?" "Read all about it here!"
Adonis huffed and tried to speed past the man selling newspapers. It couldn't be that easy though could it. Suddenly, the man grabbed Adonis' arm.

"Please man I really need the money." The man pleaded pathetically.

"Let go of me, human." Adonis, at first, didn't seem angry.

"Human..?" The man asked confused, Then his eyes widened. "O-oh you're an alt..." He quickly let go of Adonis' arm.

"Whatever prevents you from touching me." Adonis said and then quickly walked down the already moving escalator almost falling.

Adonis got off of the metro after a few stops and stopped in front of a building bustling with people. Adonis slowly walked in and was immediately greeted by a woman wearing the same shirt as other workers carrying trays and attending.

"Hello and welcome to-" The woman started.

"How much can this get me?"  He dropped two solid pieces of rounded gold into her hands. The woman stared and finally asked. "Sir you're joking right?" Adonis stared back at her.

"What..?"

Adonis walked down the street with no food. He listened to his grumbling stomach wondering what "Paper money" was

"You'd think my father would tell me the basics of living in the human world." Adonis grumbled to himself before remembering that there was a class that he should've been taking about the subject.

Adonis aimlessly trailed into a alley kicking empty cans, and stepping over rats. The alley was dark and humid filled wit trash and rats. It seemed that every step Adonis took he would step on a piece of glass, crunching it under his foot. He continued to walk until a muscular man with a white dirty tank top stopped him.  The man had a beer gut and that was probably the cause of most of the stains on his shirt.

"You walkin through these streets mighty confidently." The man said, walking in front of me.

"What do you want." Adonis said noticeably having to look up at the man.

"You must have a powerful gene huh?"  The man smirked and tossed the cigarette.

"Oh, you have no idea," Adonis said slyly.

"I also take it you wanna make some money?" The man asked in the same tone.

Adonis thought to his painfully empty stomach. "Who doesn't." Adonis said eyeing the man cautiously.

The man chuckled. "Come with me kid." The man turned to reveal a door he was leaning on before. He trudged into the building not looking back or waiting for Adonis. Adonis looked down from where he came from, shook his head, stuffed his hands into his pockets, and nonchalantly walked through the door with the man. It was a sight to see in there. At least 100 people stood crowded in that small building all of them holding wads of cash in their hands waving them and hollering wildly. In the middle of the small room, there was a fairly small chained ring where two people were supposed to be fighting, instead, one feral  and unkempt looking woman with long, greasy hair stood on top of the lifeless body of a man with bruised hands.

"This place is weird." Adonis muttered to himself.

"Oh come on its not that bad." The man chuckled.

"I wasn't talking about the building."
