Toad explained the situation with Ruby and Mercury having sex and the rest of team RWBY was disguised with her.

Yang: I can't believe Ruby would actually do that. I'm so sorry Toad.
Toad: it's fine Yang you didn't know.

When Ruby heard that song she started crying. A few days later she became depressed. She was a shell of her former self. Not wanting to do anything. She doesn't eat cookies anymore. All she eats is vegetables. She's not as cheery anymore. She doesn't wake up her team like she used to. She's now the last one to wake up.

Ruby: maybe I don't deserve him. Maybe if I wasn't being tempted by Mercury then Toad and I would've been married by now.
