Chapter 1 - First Day of School

A/N

Before the story starts you should know it take time before drama happens and it gets all exiting. But I prefer it that way, because there are too many "I met Harry Styles, he kissed me, we got married, we had sex, done" fanfics and they are all alike. If you dont have patient, dont read.

"Hold on a second Lauren, my mum is calling"

I said, and put down my phone. Today is the first day of school, and the thought of starting in college made me smile. I have had an amazing summer holiday, but I must admit I have missed my day to day routine. I went downstairs to ask my mum what the hurry was, since she has been calling my name the past 10 minutes, while I was on the phone with my best friend Lauren.

Mum was in her late 30s, my friends used to tease me about her being a "milf" which I found quite awkward sometimes. I admit, she was a beautiful one and I was proud to have her as my mum but when my boy friends (and I mean friends, who are boys) start talking about how hot she is,I can't do anything but get uncomfortable with the situation. After all she was my mum.

"Mum, what's up? You kept calling my name while I was in the phone with Lauren"

I said, and went to sit at the dining table we had in the kitchen.She was busy talking on the phone, probably about some business stuff, so I grabbed an apple and read the newspaper while she was finishing her call. Finally she finished and said

"Good morning love, are you ready for college? I was wondering if you could drop Max off on your way, I'm kinda busy this morning, and I need to leave early"

I thought about it for a second, but agreed. Max was my little brother and he just started in secondary school. He was a nice kid, and even thought we sometimes had our discussion he was nothing but lovable.

My mum left earlier as she said and I told Max to get ready. I had this feeling that I forgot something, but I couldn't say what. I went upstairs to pack my backpack, and I felt butterflies in my stomach as I thought about starting in college. I was really excited. Not only to meet the new people, but also to start over, and who knows if I love gets involved? I hadn't really been lucky with finding love before. Let me put it this way. I got friendzoned way too often. I used to ask Lauren what is was that made boys only want to be friends with me. Do I really look like a boy?

I had pretty long dark brown hair, and I always dressed pretty feminine. I had big brown eyes, and as Lauren always said "eyelashes that are longer than the ones you see in the L'OREAL Paris ads". To be honest, I was pretty happy with my look. Not because I was beautiful or stunning, but I think it's too stupid to point out all your insecurities when you can't fix them anyways. "I'm beautiful in my way, cause God makes no mistakes" as Gaga said. But Lauren said it has nothing to do with my looks, but my personality. Well. I admit I could be pretty boyish often, and I might have it easier to understand and talk to boys. You should think I'd have an easy time getting boys, but no.

"Rita, I'm going outside to the car hurry up"

Max said, and disappeared out of the living room. I should probably get going I thought to myself, and went after Max, who was already sitting in the back seat of the car.

"Why are you sitting in the back seat Max? I thought you preferred front"

I asked him, eyeing an eyebrow at him but he just looked at me like I was joking and answered:

"I would, but you have been telling me not to ask the whole summer, because it's Laurens seat".

Oh shit, that was what I forgot! I told Lauren to come back on the phone in a second, and it must have been an hour now. I quickly dialled her number and you should think she was expected the call cause within a single "beep" she answered the phone saying:

"That took time Rita! What happened to a second? Well, are you going to pick me up? Because otherwise I'm driving with mybrother". I told her I'll be at her parking lot in 5 minutes and drove.

College was just as I thought! First of all, people were much more mature and I could feel that just as me and Lauren stepped in the school. We greeted some of our old friends from secondary school, and found our classroom. We were starting the day of with introduction and stuff. Pretty boring, but it has to be done. Rules were told, and teacher was introduced. It was troubles finding our way around, because the school was huge! I can't count how many times Lauren "accidently" mobbed into some handsome guy. Well that was her way of flirting, and she couldn't even wait one day.

As the school bell rang, we went out to find my car which was parked at the back. Senior students had this idea that freshmen were underdogs, and they weren't allowed to park in the good parking lots. On my way though, I ACCIDENTLY fell into this dark-haired guy. Embarrassment got me, and my face turned red as I was collecting my books which I dropped. The guy helped me, and as we both stood up, his eyes met mine and I felt my heart skipped a beat. I was just staring into his eyes, and he in mine until Lauren coughed and broke the staring competition. I found the situation quite awkward as we both just stood there not saying a word.

Lauren broke the silence and introduced herself; she then looked at me wanting me to introduce myself to this VERY handsome and beautiful guy.

"Eh, and I'm Rita. I'm sorry about bumping into you like that. I can be kinda clumsy sometimes".

I didn't know where to look and Lauren just winked at me. She thought I did it on purpose! He finally spoke and said

"It's okay though. Really"

He assured me and continued

"My name is Zayn, Zayn Malik. How come I never have seen you before?"

We told him we were freshmen, and just started in the college. He then told us, he was a junior and asked if we needed a drive home. I could see he was one of the kind ones but there was something mysterious about him.

"It's okay; I have a car so we don't need a ride. But it was nice meeting you Zayn! See you around?"

"Yeah, see you around!"

He answered, and walked away. As we walked towards my car Lauren said:

"You fancy him don't you?"

A/N

Hey guys! So basically this is my first ever fanfiction, and it took a lot of time for me to find an idea for a fanfiction so I will personally hunt you down if you copy any of this okay. I don't know the copyrights very well yet, but I will research about it before doing all that "copyrtight" thing. 

I have the first 4 chapters written, and I will post the next one as soon as you ask for it :-) I don't see the point of posting if no one reads anyways... 

And for the future I will not have long authors notes because I find them very irritating too. Leave a comments and vote and all that! Love xx
