The next morning I was woken up by Jen entering my room, banging two cymbals against each other - non stop.

"Stop!" I yelled, covering my ears with my hands.

The sound was getting louder and louder. I knew my sister wouldn't give up, so I gave in and shot up from my bed. I lunged over to my phone to see the time. It was already 11am. Not the time I wake up to.

"It's about time you woke," Jen retorted.

She's always nagging me. I hate being the youngest.

I went straight into the bathroom, trying to take a quick shower but ended up in there for an hour, enjoying the relaxion of it. To me it felt like 20 minutes but I guess I just got carried away with the warmth of the water.

I got dressed into one of my wooly jumper, as it was quite cold today, and wore a pair of skinny jeans.

As I got to the staircase, I could smell the aroma of my favourite pancakes. I quickly ran down the stairs and sat at the table, waiting for food to be served.

Mum served the plate of pancakes and sat down. I enjoyed the meal whilst everyone watched the news. Urgh, I tell you, the world now has turned into a disaster.

"Jen dear, are you free today?" mum asked.

"Nah, sorry mum. Going out for a bit and then late shift at the café. why? " she questions back at mum.

"Your dad and I were planning a family day out but maybe next time."

"Dont worry mum, theres plenty of days ahead this week," Jen explained.

"Whats that?" dad says, not knowing what was going on. He gets so locked into the newspaper.

We all laughed ignoring his remark.

"Willing to do me a favour Jen?" I asked politely, trying not to sound snobby.

"What do you want?" she slyly asked, tapping her foot.

"Can you drop me off to the mall on your way?"

She pondered on the thought for a moment.

"Fine, but you'll be returning the favour," she stated without my consent.

"Deal," I said, even though I felt as if I'm going to regret it later.

I grabbed my purse and phone off the couch and headed out, once we said our goodbyes and gave hugs to our parents.

I sat in Jens car, along with her on the driver side.

"So what are you up to today?" Jen asked.

"Oh nothing much, just hanging out with Gemma as I haven't seen her in ages", I told her.

She just gave me a nod.

"What about you?" I asked.

She looked at me for a brief second, then back at the road.

"Mainly at the café really."

But I knew she had other plans.

"Any chance you'll be seeing Jacob?" I raise an eyebrow at her. That's her boyfriend. They've been together since their college days, probably about 5 years now.

"What's it to you?" she fired back.

"I just wanted to know. He is a part of our family now, you know."

Jen glared at me but didn't say anything in response.

We reached the shopping centre, and I thanked Jen for dropping me.

"You owe me big time," she called out.

"Yeah, yeah, " I responded sarcastically.

I walked towards a restaurant, when I bump in to someone.

"Sorry," I said behind me. It was our neighbour Mrs Stewart.

"Oh hello dear. It's totally fine. How are you?" she asked kindly.

I noticed I'd knocked down a few of her bags so I helped her pick them up. To be honest, I was walking too fast to have noticed someone in front of me.

"I'm good, and yourself?"

"I'm doing great. Where were you off to?" She asked.

"Nowhere really, just going to hang out with Gemma." I handed her her bags.

"Oh that's delightful. Well you enjoy yourself then, I'll see you soon." She said.

"Thanks. Bye." I gave her a smile and walked in to the restaurant Gemma and I were going to meet.
