The light you awakened within me
of a brighter day
and warmer smiles
is slowly dimming out
leaving me in complete darkness
the warmth that you brought
has been replaced
by my cold thoughts
freezing my brain over
the peace that you restored within me
has been distorted once more
replaced by a storm
that keeps me up all night
the safety you promised
has been snatched away from me
my thoughts, they haunt me
the words you said erased by me
but
without you
I am more content
