Where did it go? She was sure she left it on his reading table  so he would find it. She was still wondering where the card was when she spotted his guitar. She forgot about everything she was thinking about. She took his guitar and sat on his bed. She played tunelessly. She was enjoying what she was doing until three strings removed. She threw the guitar on the floor. She was scared because she knew she was in trouble.

Pascal was having a shower when he heard someone play his guitar. The tune coming out from it was meaning less. Nelson? Quickly, he turned the water off and grabbed a towel. As soon as he stepped out, someone was leaving his room. He didn't know who the person was, but he was sure that the person had been playing with his guitar. He picked the guitar up and three strings were dangling and part of the wooden part of the guitar was broken. He swore under his breath and dropped it. The guitar was the first and last gift Charlisse had given him. He was really furious. He wore his clothes and went to Nelly's room.
Nelly wasn't in and Pascal remembered that he had a football match that day. There was only one person who could be so foolish. He went back to his room, took the guitar and kept it. He was getting a new one but he wasn't going to dispose the previous one because it reminded him of her.
Leona felt sorry for what she did and hoped he wouldn't find out who did it.

Mrs Brown went on a business trip and Jane wasn't feeling too well. She asked Pascal and Leona to get groceries from the store down the street and they agreed.
Pascal got into his car and Leona sat at the back. She felt really guilty, but she couldn't say a word because she feared him. Pascal drove silently and promised himself that he was going to pay her back for what she did to his guitar.
They got to the store and Pascal continued to pick groceries while Leona didn't do a thing. He paid and handed all the bags of groceries to her. It was heavy, but she didn't say a word. She had worn heels to impress him so she found it difficult to walk properly. They got to the garage and Pascal got into the car. She got in also and he pushed her out. She fell to the ground spraining her ankle. Thank goodness the groceries were in the car already, they would have been scattered everywhere.
"You can board a taxi or something. I feel uncomfortable when you ride in this car with me". With that, he zoomed off and Leona tried to stand up. She knew he disliked her, but she didn't expect him to treat her that way.

"This is worse than I thought", Leona muttered as she sank into the couching the living room. She dialed Marie's number.
"Hi, Marie"
"Hello, Lea....... What's up? You haven't called me for sometime now. "
"Yeah, I'm sorry ".
"OK"
"Can I ask you something? "
"Actually.... Its not about me ".
"Lea, you can tell me about it".
"You see, a friend was pushed and she sprained her ankle ".
"Omg! How? "
"She was on heels", she closed her eyes and quickly prayed that Marie wouldn't ask too much questions that might lead her to finding out that she was injured.
"Take her to the hospital ", Marie said.
"Well, she doesn't want to go and that's why I called you to see if you can suggest a quick remedy to the pain".
Marie was silent, she wondered how fast Leona had started making friends.
"Are you sure its not you? "She suddenly asked.
"No.......... No......... I'm fine"
"A massage with an ointment and painkillers would help".
"Okay, I'll relate everything to her"
"Yeah"
"Thanks"
Leona hung up and sighed.
"You're an expert at telling lies", she heard Pascal say and she turned to see him staring at her with his hands in his pockets.
"What......... What..... "She stammered.
"Come here! "
"Huh? "
"You heard me"
She stood up and closed her eyes as she felt the pain again. Pascal watched her with his gaze on her ankle as she limped to him.
"What happened to your ankle? "He asked.
"Nothing! "She responded defiantly and limped to the kitchen. He spun her round to face him and she screamed as it hurt her more. A tear slid down her cheek.
"I just asked you a simple question, but if you don't want me to know, suit yourself", he made to walk out of the kitchen and Leona frowned, she hated the look of innocence on his face.
"You're heartless! "She shouted at him and he turned back. "What's so wrong in living under the same roof with you? I knew it wasn't gonna be easy but I took the chance. And I've been trying to keep up with your harsh manner since I came here but then what happened? First i fell from the stairs, and now this! All because of your cruelty, I sprained my ankle and what happened to my ankle is all you ask? Oh....... Come on! Don't pretend like you don't know. You knew I was on heels but you pushed me all because you didn't want me to be in your car. You're so selfish, Pascal Brown, because you don't care about others".
Her chest was rising and falling as she tried to control her anger. She waited for him to say something  but he didn't say a word. He simply walked away. She exhaled roughly when she heard him close the door. She limped to her bedroom and went to the window. Lifting the curtains, she saw him drive out. She wondered where he was off to as she laid on her bed.

Pascal hit the road and drove silently as her words kept echoing in his head. He didn't really feel guilty for what he did to her. He had never hurt a girl physically though he knew he must have hurt his admirers emotionally. He wasn't sorry for that too, because he had been a jerk to make girls leave him alone. Yet, they became drawn to him instead.
Leona heard his car come into the driveway and she pretended to be asleep because she hated herself for the things she had said to him and she didn't wish to see his face. Her door opened and she closed her eyes tightly.
He entered her room for the first time and he knew she was already asleep. He dropped the paper bag he was carrying on the reading table and turned. He saw her staring at him and he turned back to the table. He picked up the paper bag and made for her bed. She sat up as he approached and he brought out the contents in the bag. There was an ointment and a bandage. She guessed he overheard her conversation with Marie.

He rolled up his sleeves and took her ankle. He knelt down and took her angle in his lap. He applied a little ointment on his palms and rubbed them together. He massaged her ankle and she winced. She stared at his bent head and felt sorry for him. She understood what he was going through and she knew she was at fault, but he shouldn't have pushed her.
She admired him, to be frank and she knew it. But she wasn't ready to admit it. She hoped he wouldn't find out her real feelings. She didn't like his personality, but she liked him and she knew she would get over him soon.

Pascal didn't say a word as he bandaged her ankle. He stood up after he was through and he put the bandage and ointment back in the paper bag. He dropped it on the table and came back after some minutes with a pill and a glass of water. Leona took the pill and she handed him the empty glass and laid down.
"Thanks", she muttered.
Pascal turned back, "don't think too much about this favor. Its the only way I can repay you for forcing me home the other day. Also don't think I'm sorry for what I did to you, because I'm not. "
With that, he walked out of the door quietly.
