" Boy? You are a man Parth. When you'll acknowledge that probably you will do something more productive."
......
Parth's POV
Burger Sphere
That was what written on the paper bag she was carrying.
I don't like burgers.
She was now just in front of me still on phone. She extended her other hand to handle me the bag as she mouthed, 'HAVE IT' and leaned against the wall behind the bench where I was sitting.
' Listen Prince, I am tired of having this discussion. I really am. I'll be home in less than an hour. We'll continue it there. '
And she hung up without giving him a chance to reply.
Prince. Her husband.
Is Prince his real name or her nickname for him? I don't know but nevertheless I hate the name.HATE. HATE. HATE
No not again. Why am I thinking again? Thoughts bring hate. I don't want to think so I started eating the burger.
She was silent and as usual calm, looking at the sky while I was eating. But there was something tense about her posture. She was brooding.
"You like it?" She asked after I finished.
"A...yess"
-"No you don't. You don't like burgers. I'll remember that," She can faceread. That is one thing I know about her since our first meet.
- "You didn't walk in the morning?"
-"I did. It was early. You weren't here," She paused for some time before continuing, " Parth stand up."
I did as I came face to face with her.
" Look Parth I have a job for you...."
-"I am not taking it S. I am not jobless remember?"
-"I do and this job is not under your standards. My company needs a software..."
-" What standards? Even I don't know my standards."
-" I do. My company needs..."
- "I am not taking it S. I prefer it this way", I said as I again interjected her.
"What way? Look Parth..."
"Please S. A few more days then maybe I can talk to you about this."
She sighed as silence engulfed between us. The city of Mumbai never sleeps but at this time the roads were quite silent.
I also leaned against the wall beside her. She was looking at the streets, the lights and I was looking at her.
"What happened to the divorce?" I initiated.
She closed her eyes for a while before answering as if she wasn't expecting me to ask this, "Mom and dad don't support it."
PARENTS. PARENTS. PARENTS.
Why is it that they never understand their child? They just pretend to wish for their best.
"Its been what like sixteen days since you are on streets like this." Shruti asked.
- "Nineteen. Sixteen since we met."
-"Nineteen exactly. And you still aren't over your past."
-"I am over it."
