Chapter 3: Leo's Jam

Paige's POV

Adam, Chase, and I stand by my locker next to the gym. Leo comes walking up to us looking confident.

"Guys, with the dance coming up, I thought you could use a lesson on how to ask a lady out," Leo said.

"Oh, great. Do you know a guy who can teach them?" I ask teasing him. He fake laughs at me.

"Me! You're gonna watch me ask out the girl of my dreams: Danielle," Leo say gazing at Danielle on the bench.

"Danielle? Isn't she the girl who uses you as a footstool in math class?" Chase asks. I laugh.

"Where else is she suppose to put her feet-- on the floor?!" Leo asks shocked. I roll my eyes. "Open your notebooks, boys, cause class is in session," He says strolling over to Danielle. Adam pulls a notebook out of his bag and gets ready to write. Me and Chase look at him.

"Hey, Danielle. Do you know how much a polar bear weighs? Enough to break the ice. I'm Leo Dooley," He says sticking his hand out for her to shake. I laugh at his stupid pickup line, but I must say, it was clever.

"Didn't you send me 87 e-mails?" She looks at him curiously.

"Yeah, that was a slow day," He responds.

"Okay, well, see you later, Lenny," She says walking off.

"It's Leo by the way!" He calls after her. Adam, Chase, and I walk towards him.

"So, Leo... What should I write down in my notebook? I mean, other than 'denied'" Chase says to Leo smirking.

"No, no, no, you can cheat off of me. I have, 'She's not going to the dance with Lenny.'" Adam says laughing. Leo glares at us.

"Are you guys talking about the dance too? Why is everybody making such a big deal out of this stupid dance?" Bree says clearly annoyed. Chase smirks.

"Nobody's asked you yet, have they?"

"No! I really wanna go with that guy," she points to a guy in the gym, "His name is Ethan. We sit next to each other in chemistry. Coincidence? I think not. Chemistry! What should I do?"

"I got this," Chase says removing some hair from around his ear. "He's talking about a girl he thinks is cute," He says. Bree looks at me hopeful. "Ewww! He's talking about you!" He makes a face of disgust. I hit him lightly. "He's coming over here right now to ask you to the dance."

"What?! No! Now? Why? Really?" Bree says rambling on. I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Breath Bree. Just be cool," I say calmingly.

"How's it going?" Ethan says smiling.

"Ethan! What a huge surprise! To see you here, for reasons we do not know." Chase says ruining it all.

"Hey, Ethan. How... uh, you know.. we... uh, you know... decided... What is that over there?" Bree stutters and points in a random direction. Ethan looks to where she is pointing and she speeds away.

"Where'd she go?" Ethan asks confused. I look at the boys.

"Uh, more importantly, what is over there?" Adam says pointing in the same direction. Ethan looks again and we all run.

Chase and I walk in through the front door of our house.

"Hey, who are you going to the dance with?" Chase asks me as we walk through the living room.

"Uh, idk. no one I guess since no ones asked me," I shrug and open the fridge. I offer him a water bottle and take one for myself.

"Would you like to go to the dance with me?" He asks looking at me. "I-I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to," He says nervously. I smile
