It's 7:30 am. I know, I know. I didn't have to wake up this early but I do not want to risk being late on my first day at Kaiba Corp.

I get dressed. Short and tight skirt with a blue blouse or rather pants with the blouse? Skirt. However I'm not doing it for Kaiba... I just want to look cute.

A bus ride later and I am standing in front of the gigantic Kaiba Corp building. It's 8:35 am. I could probably go in already...oooor I could go the opposite direction to the Red Velvet and get Kaiba's usual order. Black coffee, hot chocolate and a donut.

I quickly walk across the street. Luckily I brought the key with me since RV isn't open for at least another hour. I speed walk back to Kaiba Corp and as I reach the door it's exactly 8:40 am. Here goes nothing.

The doors open and instantly I see Kaiba sitting on one of the armchairs. He looks up from the newspaper that he was reading and sees me. He looks at his watch and stands up, heading my way. I, too, walk towards him.

"Precisely 20 min before. Well done, Ms. Knight. I hope this becomes a habit and is not only reserved for your first day." He approaches me, monotonous voice.

Why is he so different all of the sudden. Wasn't he the one being all cheesy a few days ago? As usual, I raise my hopes and they just get stepped on. I really need to work on those attachment issues.

"I was actually too early so I thought I'd go get you your usual order... You know... as my first task as your PA. Here."

I hand him the two beverages and the donut as I try to hear as less hurt as possible. However I don't think I was as convincing as I had hoped for.

He looks at me for a second before taking it and smiles.

"Thank you. That was very thoughtful. Come, I'll show you around and introduce you to the most important staff members that you will be operating with."

He introduces me to Luna, the lady at the reception. Michael, the chief of the newest project. Cameron, the head of the hologram department and a bunch of others.

"And this will be your desk," he points out as we get to the top floor, which is entirely only for him. My desk is basically between the elevator and the two huge doors to his office. His initials are carved into them.

He gives me a password to the computer at my desk and other important log in details for various accounts, calendars etc.

He also hands me the summary of my duties as his PA. The main points are:

-acting as a first point of contact (dealing with correspondence and phone calls)

-managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments, controlling access to who is allowed to enter his office

-booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation

-organising events and conferences

-reminding him of important tasks and deadlines

-typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence

-managing databases and filing systems

-implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems

-liaising with staff, suppliers and clients

-collating and filing expenses

-miscellaneous tasks to support him, which will vary according to the sector and to his remit, eg completing some corporate governance reporting (to ensure that the business is being run properly and complying with legislation and regulations) or conducting research
