"WHAT???!!"

"Why are you so shocked? It's not like it's impossible for him to get a boyfriend. Unless... You think that my brother will never get over you???" Zhuocheng looked like he was going to bite Haikuan's head off.

"I-I didn't say that!" It's still questionable why Haikuan, who's older than Zhuocheng, would stutter everytime he spoke with the fierce guy.

Yibo on the other side, was contemplating whether to go along with Zhuocheng and act as Xiao Zhan's 'boyfriend' or to explain everything to his brother.

While he was silent, Haikuan continued.
"But, I don't believe Yibo is his boyfriend."

"And why is that?" Zhuocheng asked.

Maybe Haikuan got some confidence at last, so the guy just chuckled.
"Oh, please, Dr. Wang... Yibo is MY BROTHER. I know my brother is not into guys, right Yibo?" Yibo froze.

His heart was thumping and he felt dizzy.
'Why is everyone keep on doubting my sexual preferences these days?'

Before Yibo could say anything, another voice spoke, "Stop being an asshole, A-Cheng." All of them turned to the guy who was leaning against the wall. "The boy looks terrified"

"You have no rights to talk to me, Zhu Zanjin" Zhuocheng said, making the other two guys shivered from hearing his voice.
Maybe he had shown some mercy on Haikuan..

"Aye.. you don't have to be so mean-"
"I thought I told you to piss off. Do I have to carve 'scram' all over your face with my surgical knife-"
"Zhuocheng, calm down" Yibo said.

"Right, listen to the kid, Dr. Wang." Zanjin smiled at Yibo and he let out an 'oh'.
"You're.. Yibo? Wow, you've grown up into a fine young man.." He was getting closer to Yibo and the latter unconsciously took a step back for every step the former took.

"Look how pretty your face is-" He was trying to touch Yibo's face before Haikuan slapped away his hands.

"Don't touch him" He stood in front of Yibo protectively.
"You have no rights to touch my brother", he said.

"Ooooh~ Looks like someone is being protective~ Come on, it's not like we've never met before.. Yibo, do you still remember this gege?"

Yibo blinked. He couldn't remember the guy and he felt so uncomfortable.
"No, I don't remember"
"You really don't remember?"
"No, why would I?"

"It's not just you, he doesn't remember that he met Xiao Zhan too" Haikuan said.

"WHAT?? WHEN?? WHERE?? HOW??" Yibo shook his brother's shoulders.

"Ah, so he knows Xiao Zhan?"
"Yes, they're-" Yibo cut his brother off.
"Boyfriends."
Zhuocheng chuckled darkly internally. 'He's pretty wise for a young guy'

"Whaaaaaaaat~ Aww Haikuan... I remember you and Xiao Zhan made a good pair... Seems like you brothers have the same taste after all-"
"Enough with your bullsh*t, I thought I told you to get lost" Zhuocheng blocked the two brothers from Zanjin's sight.

"Hm, but I haven't talk with ZhanZhan yet, I'm going to wait-"
"There's no need" Everyone turned to see who was talking.
"I don't want to hear anything from you." Xiao Zhan maybe woke up from the noise they made, but Zhuocheng was glad that instead of fainting again, his older brother could face the one who hurted him in the past.

"You had five years, but what you've been doing? Running away. That's all you did." Xiao Zhan said, in a disappointed and betrayed tone.
"But Xiao Zhan-"
"ZHU ZANJIN! I GAVE YOU THE CHANCE! After five f*cking years... Do you think your chance is still valid? Why do I have to hear your explanation?"

Zanjin started tearing up, surprising everyone who was watching the two without saying anything. He looked like he was drowning in guilt, and he hated himself for it. No one knew if he was faking it or not but his sad expression was so real.

"I... I'll go... But please, contact me... I have something to say... About your parents' car accident" He gave his card to Yibo, since he was sure that Xiao Zhan was serious about not wanting to see him.

"Please take care of your boyfriend.. I hope you're better than Haikuan" Zanjin smiled sadly at Yibo before he left.

"Xiao Zhan, let me take you home." Zhuocheng offered.
"Hm... Do you mind if I stay the night in your office?"
"Sure... Then, Yibo-"
"I'll take him home. We need to talk"
"Mn."

Yibo was a (TINY) bit disappointed because Xiao Zhan chose to stay at the hospital, but he thought, 'Maybe it's better for him to stay with his brother.. After what happened today..'

The day felt so long... Haikuan came back from Australia.. Xiao Zhan had a panic attack.. He met the grumpy Zhuocheng.. He was introduced as Xiao Zhan's boyfriend- WAIT.

"WHAT THE F-" "Language, Yibo."
"Oh, sorry.." He was so deep in thought that he forgot he was in the car with his older brother.

"So.. Boyfriends, huh?" Haikuan started.
"I-"
"There's no need to explain. I understand."
"Huh????"
"I know you were straight as a ruler..."
'WHAT DO YOU MEAN??? I AM STRAIGHT', he wanted to shout but he stayed silent.
"I was too... But that's before I met Xiao Zhan..."
"..."
"I'm glad that he found a new love, even Zhuocheng approved you, but Yibo..."
"Hm?"
"If you ever hurt him, please remember that I'll always be waiting for my chance."
"..."
"..."
"As if he would want to accept you.." Yibo confidently said.
"What?" Haikuan was confused.

"He didn't even want to see you just now. What makes you think he'll be looking for you?"
"I.. That's-"
"Whatever happened between you two, I believe he has a better chance to live happily with me." He didn't know where the confidence came but he felt the need to protect Xiao Zhan from any harm. 'As a friend, of course...' he thought.

"Hm... I guess that's true..." Haikuan said, finally giving up. 'Maybe Yibo is a better boyfriend than me..'

"May I know why you two broke up?" Yibo asked.
"Um.. I.."
"I asked Zhuocheng but he said that I should ask one of you. He suggested Xiao Zhan but I'm too curious to wait."

They finally arrived at Yibo and Xiao Zhan's shared apartment.
"Well, let's talk inside?"
"Mn, sure, brother"

"Seriously? An instant coffee??" Yibo rolled his eyes before replying, "You want me to serve you tap water instead?"

"Tch, you're still the same.. So mean.."
"You're asking for it."
"Hmph."
"Can you please start talking already???"
"Jeez.. fineeee.. What do you want to know?"
"Hmm... the reason you guys broke up"

"It happened 5 years ago. We broke up because of me, because I was an irrational assh*le. I believed the rumor that others spread more than his own words."

"What rumor?" Yibo had a bad feeling and he didn't like it.

"That he was a prostitute."

sorry for the laaaaaaate and short update. school sucks and i dont like failing in my studies. i did want to publish the chapter earlier but i was stuck at a particular part in this chapter and had writer's block for days. sorry to disappoint you guys.

the next chapter will be about what happened to xiao zhan, his parents and why haikuan regretted everything. it will also explain who spread the rumor and the truth behind it.

i cant promise when will i release the chapter so pls forgive me.
