Denki's day at the Shop

"What do you mean they're having you work the shift today? Saturday's your day off!!"

"I know, but Hitashi called off last minute and I'm the only available worker."

"Who's gonna watch Denki? I have to leave in 30 minutes and there's no way in hell we'll find a babysitter at 5:30 in the morning."

"Can't he sit in the lobby at the shop? I'd take him with me but my boss really doesn't like when I bring him in."

"You know your boss can suck my dick. Denki electrocuted the building and caused a power outage one time, and now he doesn't trust him within 2 feet of his store." Aoi crossed her arms with a glare.

"No matter how many times I tell him Denki's gotten better control, he won't budge."

"I think he just hates my son..."

"Aoi, you know that's not true, he just doesn't like quirks. He's quirkless, remember?"

"That still doesn't give him an excuse to practically ban Denki from the store.."

"I know, I know, but we don't have much choice, I'm still new and we really can't afford to lose this job."

"Fine, alright, I'll take him to the shop with me, but I am so ringing your boss out one of these days." Aoi claimed practically fuming, he merely patted her head as she huffed.

"I know, I'll go wake Denki and help him get ready." With that the father walked off to his son's room.

"Mamma.. Why did I have to get up so early..?" The eight year old Denki yawned as the two were hand and hand entering the workshop through the back.

"Because Daddy's boss is a big ol' meanie and made him go to work."

"He is a meanie, and scary.."

"I know right?" She led Denki through the garage into the lobby setting him up in a corner. "Okay, so while Mommy is working you're gonna sit in the lobby. I'll come check on you every 20 minutes, if you need anything just use my phone and call the contact labeled 'work' and either me or my coworkers will answer." She handed him her phone, she got up turning on the tv grabbing the remote giving it to Denki. "You got free range of the tv, your daddy packed you some things to do if you get bored."

"Mamma I'm hungry.."

"Remember the doughnuts we picked up on the way?"

"Yeah?"

"Take one, I get out early today so we don't get lunch." She went getting the box off the front desk opening allowing Denki to take his pick.

"Thank you Mamma!!" Aoi smiled closing the box after he selected his doughnut kissing his head.

"You're welcome baby, now be good. I'll be in the garage." With that she walked back into the garage as Denki munched on his breakfast watching tv.

"Hello you've reached Mafurāman, Aoi speaking."

"Mamma, I'm thirsty.." Denki had been sitting in the lobby for a few hours now, he mostly stayed put but he did wander a few times to stretch his legs.

"Okay hun, give me a minute and I'll walk you over to the store to get a drink."

"Okay Mamma!" Denki responded. The phone hung up and Aoi grabbed a rag wiping her hands.

"Boys! I'm running over to the store with Denki! You guys want anything?" Aoi shouted out as she threw the rag to the table.

"Can you grab me an energy drink?"
