"I don't dance, but here I am, spinning you 'round and 'round in circles" started playing on my alarm to wake me up. Four o'clock on the dot, I jump out of bed without a minute to spare. Most people would hate to wake up this early but I don't mind, I get to wake up doing what I love. I throw on some of my bad pairs of pants and my red plaid button up shirt and my cowboy boots. I make my way downstairs to get a poptart. My dad was sitting at the kitchen table drinking some coffee.

"Good morning dad" I chimed.

"Hey peanut, ya know some people might think your crazy because you wake up at this time and your happy about it" he replied.

"Well I get to wake up and I get to go milk some fine cows, that just makes me happy now doesn't it? So those people can mind their own business and go back to their air conditioned office, but let me tell ya their office doesn't have as good of a view as my office" I tell him.

"That's my girl, now why don't you try and get those people and tell them to work over here, because I'm afraid I'm gonna have to hire now that the farm is taking off, and you have to go back to school in September for your senior year. We can't take care of this farm ourselves" my dad tells me. That's what I was afraid of, I don't want new people coming in acting like they can just do whatever they want.

"Dad! You can't do this! I can work more I don't need to go back to school, please don't hire anyone" I complain, I was afraid of this moment.

"Carrie, it needs to be done, I have a guy around your age coming to the farm today he applied for a job, you need to treat him kindly because he will most likely be working with you" my dad tells me. This guy better know what he's getting into because I will not tolerate a city kid. I leave my dad at that and make my way to the milking parlor.

It's almost around one in the afternoon when I finish, I try to find my dad to tell him it's his turn to milk. I find my dad talking to some curly headed guy in jeans and a nice looking shirt. This must be the guy

"Dad, it's your turn to milk" I tell him after I get his attention. I turn to the curly headed boy, he's looking at me..... Why? He's not that bad looking but I bet he's just a big headed jerk. I shouldn't judge a book by its cover but I just hope this guy knows that this isn't easy work. I bust my ass everyday just to make enough money for gas to put in my pickup.

"Ok honey, can you show Harry around the farm?" My dad asks, I nod and he walks off to the parlor.

"So, Harry?" I ask making sure that's his name. If this guy wants to work here he needs to prove it.

"Yeah, what's your name, beautiful?" I scoff, he's trying to butter me up so he can work here.

"My name is Carrie" I say harshly.

"That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl" Is he trying to piss me off? I give him a fake smile in response. I start walking towards the horse barn so I can "show him around". Something tells me he's not gonna come back after this. I turn around and he's following like a lost puppy.

"Something tells me you've never been on a farm" I tell him as I notice him checking the soles of his shoes to make sure he didn't step in anything.

"Can you tell?" He asks. I nod back to him. He walks up behind me. "Ya know I've always liked girls with blonde hair" he tells me.

"That's cool, maybe you should go find one becayse your not gonna find a girl here that's gonna want to wait on you every ten seconds so you can check your shoes" I spat back at him.

"Oh harsh" he brings his hand up to his heart to act like he's hurt by what I said. What a baby. "You'll warm up to me sometime babe" he says. Must he make me mad? My dad comes into the barn before I could slap him.

"So, Harry, how do you like the farm?" My dad asks.

"I really like it, I could really see myself working here for a long time" Harry says.

"Oh really, do you know what a tractor is?" I ask him, hopefully he gets the hint that clearly I'm annoyed.

"Yeah" he says back, atleast he knows something. My dad shoots me a glare. Oh well.

"Harry, let's go talk in the office" my dad tells him. Oh great. He's probably getting hired. Fantastic. My dad starts walking towards the office, Harry following. Harry turns around and gives me a wink. Whatever.

"Ass" I say mumbling under my breath.
