Y/N's POV

We walk for a few minutes before Mammon stops and turns back to me.

"This is the RAD dorm where my six brothers and I have been staying," he starts. "Now, let's get one thing clear, I-I ain't scared of Lucifer, okay!? I...CHOSE to listen, alright!?"

Yeah, sure.

"Alright, I'll believe you," I grin at him.

"Really? Y-Yeah, exactly!" He grins right back at me. "Oh, hey, that must be awfully heavy for you, fragile human. Here, I'll take it off your hands, but for a price! I take jewels, gems, most valuable minerals, and cash!"

He took my bag— WHY IS HE HOLDING IT WITH HIS HANDS. THAT'S GOT TO BE HEAVY.

"H-Hey! You don't need to hold it for me, and especially not like that!" I grip onto the suitcase, trying to take it back.

"B-Besides, I'm broke! I don't have any money! What do you want from a broke college kid!?"

YO, HE'S NOT EVEN BUDGING? WHAT DOES HE EAT? CHICKEN BREAST EVERYDAY?

"Nope! I don't want just human money!" He grins wider before running off. "Ahaha, there's no escaping your debt!"

"WH- OH, COME ON...!" I chase after him, tightly gripping the rest of my luggage.

He's too fast for me! How can I keep up!? Agh, right! Left! There he is! W-wait, that's a door...! Not the face, not the face—

I instantly shut my eyes as I purse my lips tightly, feeling myself fall over.

THUD!

...how did that not hurt? Also, what's around my waist?

"Yo, you can open your eyes now, human," a familiar voice says, close to my ear.

I slowly raise an eyelid, looking over in his voice's direction.

"Geez...I didn't think you'd ACTUALLY chase after me," he says with a concerned expression. "Be more careful, okay? Humans are so weak, you could've gotten injured pretty badly. You're lucky I'm the second oldest."

A-As someone who hasn't dated in who knows how long, my heart is a little too eager and should drop d**d right now. He's not THAT hot, cmon heart. Don't get emotionally attached to someone who you'll probably never see again after this year.

"Y-Yeah...thanks, Mammon, really," I mumble out, unable to meet his eyes. Looking down, I see his arm wrapped around my waist. I stand up and back away from him.

"It was no problem, it's my job to take care of ya," he folds his arms together, and pointing at the door. "Oh, this is your room by the way."

I give him a thumbs up, and open the doorknob to see a room that looks to already be partially filled and decorated. Walking in, I see a bed with plentiful of pillows, a TV with a console and some video games and books are neatly placed in the shelves, a closet, some cabinets, and a table with a basket of...food coupons? For some reason, I get some sort of home feeling around here.

"This is a nice room, much bigger than my old one at least," I smile, turning my back to the bed, and letting myself fall onto it.

This is WAY more comfortable than my old bed too!

"Eh? Really? What was your old room like?" Mammon asks, walking over to me.

"Meh. It was depressing, it was always so messy since I was always too busy with schoolwork and my part-time job," I look up at the ceiling.

He plops himself onto the bed and places his hands down. "Oh...well, hey! You're here, aren't you? You'll get to make better memories with us than in the human world!"

"Mm, yeah. You've got a point."

"As the Great Mammon, I'll of course be in all of those memories, ahaha!" He laughs proudly. "Of course, at a price- hey! You still owe me for earlier!"

Oh, come on! Just when we were NOT focusing on that!

"Hey hey, you didn't give me an OPTION about that!" I sit up and look at him. "Besides, I swear that I don't have money or any valuables."

"Welll...there are jobs here in the Devildom, duh! You can just work a couple of those and then you can pay me back at the end of the year!"

"Hgmm, fine," I sigh. "How much do I owe you?"

"A million Grimm!"

A MILLION? THIS MIGHT BE THE DEVIL'S WORLD, BUT NOT EVEN IN THE HUMAN WORLD HAVE I GONE FURTHER THAN 50K IN DEBT AT A TIME. How greedy can a demon get!? God, his eyes are lighting up at his own words!

"Wh- I can't pay that back in a year! What's the difference in currencies between the human and demon world!? What's the pay like here!? How am I supposed to pay that back...!? Won't I need a credit card!?" I dig my fingers into my hair and scalp out of sheer STRESS.

Mammon's POV

Wait, it was just supposed to be a joke! Aghhh, dumb ol' me! Cmon, you forced her into this situation, so you can take her right out as well!

"Yknow what...I'll give you the student discount! Besides, Lucifer wouldn't want you near random demons anyways," I tell her, "and I hate working, so doing part-time jobs won't do!"

Her scared posture slowly goes back to a calmer position. "Then...how much do I owe you?"

"Uh...the student discount alone is 50% off! So you owe, um, 500,000 Grimm!" I glance over at her expression- AW DIAVOLO, SHE'S STILL SCARED.

"Butbutbut you can, uh, instead be my...maid! Yup, ahaha! You can bring me my food, help me with homework, get me whatever I need, and do as I say! Doesn't that sound great, to be the servant of the Great Mammon!?" I laugh out confidently, looking at her.

I'm a genius!

"...and you promise that you won't make me pay 500k Grimm?" She asks, facing me, with another worried look.

Don't be sad, please. I really didn't mean to make you upset.

"Ugh, yes! When I say something, I mean it! I promise that you don't need to pay me in cash, human."

She sighs in relief. Oh, thank Diavolo, she's fine now.

"Alright, come on servant! Let's head to the kitchen and check if dinner's ready yet!" I get up, and rush to the door.

"M-Mammon!"

THUD!

"Oww! What gives!?" I scramble around before getting back on my feet. "Wh- who put that suitcase there!?"

"...uh. You were holding onto that suitcase," she points out.

Shoot.

"Wh-whatever! Forget about it, just unpack for now. Don't tell anyone else about this, got it!?"

"Don't worry about it, I won't."

"Good!" I quickly walk away.

I'm the Great Mammon, I never make mistakes! I'm the second oldest, which means I'm both fast and strong! She'll come to realize just how amazing I really am!
